January 16, 20241 yr I just don't see where Nick brings any value to these team if we bring in a veteran OC and DC. He also doesn't seem to be able to develop coordinators on his own...so even if we did keep him, we aren't able to build a sustainable franchise over time. Lastly, I've always disliked his cocky antics on the field. Why give opposing teams any other motivation? I suspect his attitude might have something to do with all of this too. Call it a hunch. I'm good with not firing him today, but Lurie and Howie better be quietly interviewing coaches behind the scenes.

At LB the cupboard is so bare im not sure what they do. Howie cant just keep bringing in random guys that were cut by other teams and supplementing with old beat down vets throughout the season. The only LB theyve invested anything in is Nakobe Dean and hes a midget who cant cover in a passing league and cant stay healthy. Even if Howie wanted to address LB I dont trust he knows how? I think Brown as the potential to be a solid NFL S but I am not as high on Blank as others ... he is limited athletically and will always be a weak spot. Would be nice to find someone better ... he'd be a solid STer and S3 IMHO.
January 16, 20241 yr Siri HAS to be fired - here's why. Aside from losing the locker room which stands out front and center, this team needs a rebuild. On the top of the list is obtaining an OC and DC. Siri has two years left on his contract. At this stage, he can't be trusted to obtain top shelf coordinators. Without good coordinators, the team will continue to suck. The team will also have problems signing good free agents with Siri remaining at the helm. My prediction is that he's gone by the end of the week. Lurie's face during the game said it all.

For stretches of the season he was the eagles best defender which on this defense isnt saying much but still i think hes fine there. Sure it would be great to have a freak like sean taylor back there but those guys are generational. I guess ot depends what one wants to do on D. If one is going to play single high blank doesnt have the range but as s 2 deep or lining him up closer to the LOS as a defacto LB hes capable. Eagles have 99 problems on D and Blank aint one of them.

Is Siri really hiring coordinators or is that on Howie Reportedly it was Howie who demoted Desai and promoted his buddy patricia which proved to be one of if not the biggest personnel blunders of the season At some point Lurie and howie are going to have to stop scapegoating the HC. Sure Siri has his warts but im not sure the coordinator fiasco is his

Is he fired yet? honestly, they need to do this quick and get on with their coaching search. lots of teams out there looking for a head coach. They should not wait to get started with the interviews. i feel like there unlike the last 2 times, they just need to pick one of their top 4 coaches and go with one of them. they waited so long to hire doug and nick that all the other coaches got picked! do not wait! there should be atleast 2 interviews by end of this week and more over the weekend. get through the interviews and pick someone.

He's worse than Chip Kelly. Worse than Kotite.

January 16, 20241 yr I hope he stays. I'd give it another year. I think tearing up the entire coaching staff would set us back. But maybe it is time.

I’m on the other side of the fence, he wasn’t able to right the ship and I just don’t see the point of hiring an OC and DC and trying again with Siri. Bring in a new coach and a new staff, this team will need a rebuild and I don’t think Siri is the man to do it.

Siri may get fired, and he should, but the next HC has to live with Howie running things and a team that loves analytics. This team got lucky that the last two head coaches had a QB on a rookie contract play at an MVP level, which allowed Howie to make a bunch of trades and FA signings. Hurts is on the "2nd contract” and now Howie can’t load up on free agents, and he sucks drafting outside the top 10, and can’t draft the back 7 on defense worth a F anyway. LB's and safeties can be found easily and cheaply and the middle rounds of draft. The problem is Howie wanted to get by spending ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in resources there.

January 16, 20241 yr I believe we just don't know how much of this teams issues fall directly on Siri. He can only work within the confines that are dictated to him. For all we know he could be just as frustrated as us fans with what he was told to do as HC. I think it's purely speculation at this point to say Siri lost the locker room. It could be the FO lost the entire locker room, including the coaches. Little will change if they just bring in another yes man that is just going to carry out marching orders from above. But if it was Siri largely pulling the strings then he must go. At this point I just think we don't know who is most responsible for this disaster of a season outside of some of Howie's personnel decisions on defense. The way I see it, if he stays then all blame should be directed at the FO. If he goes then either the FO is deflecting blame or Siri played a major role in the mismanaged this team.
