There is no bright side right now going into next season. This season left a real bitter taste in the mouth. A taste that makes you question about coming back for more.

The bright side is the Eagles get the #1 pick in 2025 lol.

Eagles did it last year with so called "finesse runners".

Understand this, finesse runners will do well against so-so defenses, but when faced with the better defenses in the league they're pretty much useless, they see a defender and turn and run in the other direction and more often than not get tackled for a loss.

That's why we lost to the Chiefs in the SB, Miles Sanders, the finesse runner was no match for the KC defense and trust me, Swift will be no match for the Bucs defense which means the Eagles will be pass happy against a blitzing Bucs D.....the ugly play continues next week.

Not defending Johnson here but it's more complicated than you make it out to be.  If your beef is with the creativity of the plays then blame Nick.  It's his offense, BJ is just the play caller (which has also been awful).  Either way, unloading the OC won't do us any good unless we overhaul the offense with a new architect.

And if that happens....then what does Nick actually do for this team?

Most people under appreciate Siri! He is a wonderful clown and a funny man. Let’s keep him as a new mascot. He can do tricks with flowers and entertain the children on the sidelines. Not much good for anything also.

The similarities between Pederson & Sirianni.

-Neither made a great impression when they were hired
- both surrounded themselves with excellent assistants
- both made it to the Super Bowls in their 2nd year
- both lost coordinators and coaches after Super Bowl
- made poor decisions in replacing assistants
- both had their QB signed to huge contracts
-both QB’s struggled after signing huge contracts

We all know what happened next. Seems like history is repeating itself.

You are missing the big picture. Wentz was a wako, and not very well liked by other players in the locker room. Hurts is a real deal QB, who is well respected. Besides similarities, there are quite a few differences. If Pedesrson was still here, we would do incredibly better with the same  talent we currently have. For one Pederson would ignore analytics and run the ball.

I’m not sure Hurts is the real deal. He looks like the same QB we saw 2 years ago against TB in the playoffs who couldn’t read a defense. Last year may have just been an anomaly.

You put Joe Montana or  Brady with BJ as offensive coordinator and Siri as a head coach, and it would be 3 and out all day long. What made those great QBs Great is a system….before they got their own identity.

So one more thing i thought of that might be a hidden blessing for next season is that the expectations are probably now really really low....right now no one expects the Eagles to be good next year. Maybe this takes pressure off them and it would actually help?

Not entirely true. If Alshon didn't drop that pass in the saints game they probably go on to repeat.

Interesting how Doug gets this kind of confidence after Double Doink.

Dude... there are 2 games left lol

Looking back it is now clear the season ended Dec 2nd after the niners beat down. After that they just got embarrassed on a weekly basis. They can't replace all the bad players in one year but they certainly can and should overhaul the coaching staff.

I would say season ended when they demoted Desai and Slay went down. The Slay thing was curious and they probably just thought they could just cake walk through the last remaining teams so a coordinator change wouldn't be a big deal. They were wrong. You actually need talent and you actually have to play the games to win.

I think Jurgens will be fine at C as Kelce’s replacement, but we’ll lose his leadership qualities. We’ll need an RT sooner than later, so we need to find one in the draft along with and LB and secondary help. A big RB can be addressed as well, but that something I wouldn’t waste an early pick on. The priority is defense in the draft. Some DE help could be addressed in F/A as our rotation is thin. I’d like to see if the can move Dean to WiLL or SAM in the off season and get Nolan to learn the MIKE position - experimental, but you never know. Still, the priority in the draft should be LB, DB and S.
It’ll be a a couple years, but we should be back on top if all goes well and Howie defers on some issues, cause he’s good at negotiations/trades, but he’s not a talent evaluator. He needs to leave that to those in the know. As for coordinators/coaching, I’m afraid that those candidates are picked on their willingness to be compliant with the team’s philosophy which is what Lurie and Howie desire.

Smith seems like he’s often nicked up in his own right. I don’t think he’s a better option for the inside. I kind of feel like the Eagles should just switch to a 3-4 base system. How needs to start investing in linebackers and safeties. Not sure why he continues to fail to see that his SB teams had solid play at LB and Safety. Time to stop ignoring those positions.

Eagles has not focused on LB position for a long time.  The only one they were excited about was Trotter many seasons ago.  Right or wrong, the FO probably will stick with that philosophy.  Adding LB in late rounds or FA.

Not sold on Dean yet.  Smith was billed as the rushing LB, though not showing enough and Riddick is still here.

S is also a position not getting priority.  They could think in the way that we have Brinkinship as UDFA and worked quite well.  Why spending a high pick on one?  They also had some successes in signing FAs.  So why change?

Agree that they should target a RT to develop for Lane's replacement.  CB is a high priority.  The 2 starters are on the down slope and none worthwhile behind them.
