I wonder if the Eagles consider David Shaw former Stanford head coach as OC. He's interviewed for a few HC jobs this cycle

The best job for Joyner would be director of player personnel

Based upon what?

I hear him break down opposing Offenses, and what the Eagles do on Defense, and LB play, and Defensive schemes, and that's why I like him as a Defensive Coach.

No surprise there.  Tanney may have been as big, if not bigger, problem with the offense than BJ

Is the Fangio hiring even official? If so, how come there's nothing on PE.com?

All the coaching hires will be made in a single announcement.  That's the way they've done it in the past.

Good.  Hurts obviously regressed in 2023 (for a number of different reasons but have to believe the direct coaching he received played a part).  I've been on record saying he needs tougher coaching.

Tougher is Bienemy who’s known for that tho not a QB guy.  I’m not sure who else it could be at this point besides Bienemy or Kubiak. Maybe they’ll pull somebody out of the air

I was referring to QB coach ... Bienemy or Kubiak would be OC candidates.

I know I was just thinking out loud. Maybe Ken Dorsey for QB coach

I was thinking someone like John DeFilippo.  He was known as a tough love type of coach and did some good things with Wentz in the earlier part of his career.

EDIT:  he also has prior OC experience so having more folks that can collaborate on game plans and overall scheme would be helpful (I think ... it worked well with Doug, Reich, and Flip).

Good name. He’s been out for a few years? I’ve read Alex Van pelt if he doesn’t get OC job and I was thinking Byron Leftwich but not sure their style.

He's been coaching in the UFL the past couple of years.  He was last in the NFL with Chicago in 2021.

I just edited my prior post to include the benefit of having someone like him with previous OC experience which would be helpful as part of a collaborative effort in game planning.

He reminds me of another Brian Johnson in that he doesn't have any experience running an offense, is considered a "young up-and-comer", and was recognized for their work in developing a young QB (BJ - Hurts, JJ - Stroud).  I hope he gets the job in NO ... I want nothing to do with him.  I found it somewhat strange that we interviewed him ... I don't think he is what we are looking for.  But perhaps just a case of due diligence.

He worked with Sirriani in Indy and has gone on to work in a new system.  In theory if say the year had gone well and BJ got a HC gig then he'd be a prime candidate.  But given the current situation I think we need a proven play caller.

My thoughts exactly.  Sirianni had zero answers … he absolutely needs a proven innovative mind otherwise it will be more of the same.

Taking it a step further I can't remember a time in the Lurie era where they hired an offensive or defensive coordinator without experience and it worked out.  Someone mentioned Gruden but that was forever ago

Or at the very least, he needs a good collaboration piece. Collaborating with people of your same background to diversify your offense rarely works out the way you'd hope. It's the difference of styles that tends to bring a good product to the table. I think the only exception is when you've been with certain guys for a very very very long time and have figured out how to work together well.

Otherwise, I think two perspectives is what works best.

Beinemy didn't call plays- Andy Reid did. We don't need that- we need a guy who calls plays, because Siri sure as hell isn't.

Bienemy called plays this past season

Eagles take forever to make these announcements.  Fangio is interviewing LB coaches so I think it's official and not announced but can't confirm

plus they have to comply with the Rooney Rule first, don't they?

Why not let Siri call the plays?...I don't mean Nick, I mean the Apple assistant 'Siri', might make the offense more prolific
