Maybe he’s being smart and wants the right HC role to come up? Mind you that’s a risk because who knows what next year has to offer. Rumors about a job in KC maybe opening up before too long.

Avonte tough to move on from and not realize the seemingly inevitable rewards when he has a stretch of remaining healthy. Maddox is pretty easy to move on from he is a good slot CB but he will be 28 and never can stay healthy has finished a full season once in his career. especially when cutting or trading Maddox after June 1st saves us little over 7m

Don’t need injury prone players that haven’t proven they are at least worth it when they are healthy. But needing six DBs. Have Blankenship and Slay. Sidney probably not a great option this season after the injury recovery with his career arc and such. I like having a proven vet that younger guys need to actually beat out to get a job. Instead of just getting things handed to then
January 31, 20242 yr Plus Maddox cap hit isn’t anything crazy. Just a very reasonable price for a proven vet. Taking away the durability issues you’d love to stack your whole team with guys like that.

How do you have that 2022 season near breaking the all time record in sacks…then get fired the next year under clearly terrible superiors?
January 31, 20242 yr Fangio wants to bring in his loyal guys he’s comfortable with. But something to be said for guys that can recognize talented people regardless.

All comes down to price. He isn’t a difference making player enough to roll out real large dough to. A quality starting level DT that is young and can be a part of a D longer term probably going to be an expensive accusation. Gotta think he easily commands more than Fletch did and would. Wouldn’t surprise me for Rosie to over obsess over Dline though. But I’d rather spend money elsewhere. Pick up two guys that play cheaper positions. A RB and a LB perhaps. Maybe a S. Get two difference maker level players at those spots for the same price as a quality DT that isn’t looking to be anything really special.
January 31, 20242 yr Pretty well explains exactly the rut our O got stuck in. Siri and Johnson seemed to have a gameplan only based on relying on Hurts big play ability.
January 31, 20242 yr Hurts can be the ultimate big play creator too. He’s proven that. But really didn’t see much of any O in between.
January 31, 20242 yr I can see how some Hurts haters will blame him for holding the ball too much. But what I saw was an O that was only giving mostly the long developing routes.

Hurts holding the ball isn’t a new thing though 3 out of the 4 years he held the ball longer or near the longest in the nfl… even his best year our SB run he was middle of the pack at getting rid of the ball… So it isn’t being a Hurts hater it’s just facts stop riding the dude jock and stop making excuses for the guy
January 31, 20242 yr 7 hours ago, joemas6 said: money saved on Slay and Maddox on another vet? We don’t save nothing on Slay do we??? Not unless we trade him after June 1st then it’s like a 1.2m savings for 2024 But releasing him we save nothing
January 31, 20242 yr 7 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said: gameplan only based on relying on Hurts big play ability. I watch plenty of games where Hurts opted to take the deep shot on 3rd downs when he had the underneath WR wide open which took our O off the field. By all means our O was bad but it wasn’t all just the play callers doesn’t give Hurts this excuse card for all His bad play down the stretch

January 31, 20242 yr Mike Macdonald(ravens DC) going to be the next HC of the Seahawks. Looking like Washington going to pick Dan Quinn as there next HC

That's the thing, the trade takes into consideration the offset immediately...because the other team immediately takes on the future salary etc. With the release, it obviously can't compute the player being on another team yet. Usually the language in the contract has the offset. To where the player getting paid from the new team ( if picked up after a release) provides same cap relief as a trade.
