Are you sure those RB's are even in this draft? I don't see either one

Doesn’t seem you are following me here. I didn’t list off any RB prospects anywhere here.

Nah, Howie wanted to see results for the season before making that call

Doing that accomplished the opposite actually. Trade for him very cheap. Even with his price tag being such a key favorable part of trading for him last season. Hindsight now clearly shows that the smart move would have been extending Swift immediately instead. Swift just made the Pro Bowl. Can’t even picture Swift’s leverage growing any higher than it is right now.

Why would you extend him before you saw results??

SO what he didn't make the pro bowl and you extended him and he fell flat?

OK since you made ME look it up Johnson, why would you spend a round 1 on A C if Kelce is going to play another year(or 2) I'm all for finding a nice C/G who can compete for the RG job,but there is zero way I spend a round 1 pick on one unless I have everything else I need(and we don't). Let another team waste their pick

My feelings are this FA class of RB has good options for cheap. Some good hungry RBs that are just entering their prime. Several that have that Pro experience already. But haven’t broken out enough to command big money.

Right.... at this point IMO the RB market is plentiful.  This should keep costs down.

https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/big-boards/2024/consensus-big-board-2024  This new board has Tampa at pick 50 right where I have him. They are off on the round 1 pick IMO

They also have Trotter as the 2nd round 2 which once again is right where I have him. he seems to be falling however,so he could need replacing soon if that continues. I will wait for the combine. He will either solidify his spot or he will fall further. There is something they are seeing that I am apparently missing

What leverage? There are tons of RB's on the loose in FA. Maybe we find a better one? Or maybe he understands what we offer is in the ballpark. I ,for one would like to retain him(Swift) and Gains, find another RB in FA and draft one also, but not high, round 5 is fine for a project

IMO RB's with leverage would be Barkley,or Pollard(or Henry, but he has alot of wear on him)

I’ve talked about him a few times. He’s a very highly regarded prospect. Would think you’d have run across him somewhere in all your draft scouting.

If you look up the names or watch any of the highlight clips I posted I’d think it was extremely clear what position he plays.

It’s always much more expensive to pay guys after they’ve proven more worth league wide.

Same type reasoning behind why they traded for him,

That’s all a part of negotiations. Make good deals. Earlier you recognize quality the better.

I don’t care much about him making the Pro Bowl. It just is a very obvious league wide notification of his value having climbed massively.

Seems like we’ve spent a round two pick twice on C recently. That was with Kelce staying even.

But how about a later first round pick? Get the guy that doesn’t have the durability question marks that Dickerson fell over. Has much more upside than Cam.

This pick I’m suggesting takes over at RG immediately at the least in my view.

Think it’s the get paid or not gap divide. Top elite guys. Then not franchise starters. Swift the singular option in between.

With Trotter I’d think it’s his speed.

Agreed...looking up stuff helps.  You should do it when it comes to contracts and salary cap stuff before you make your posts about it, that are incorrect.

Don't you think the players and agents feel the same and why some would prefer NOT to sign an extension until after they prove it?

Who gets paid out of the group of RBs?

What do you think Swift gets?  I think Sanders and Pollard contracts from last year.. along with the amount of RBs that are on the market bring the prices down.

Just an awful contract for Carolina with Sanders .. and brutal 10 million tag for Pollard.  Awful decisions by those teams that will cause some hesitation for teams to pay.
