July 1, 20241 yr Solid episode. I did wonder about the time period for the Harrenhal in the show as I's forgotten and now we know. It's a charred mess. This series is gonna get messy soon - can't recall much from the book as it was incredibly hard to get through because it was so boring and full of incest, but things are bubbling along nicely.
July 8, 20241 yr Well, we now know that Spoiler Ttargaryen's go splat So much going on in that episode and glad it moved the story along
July 8, 20241 yr Wow wow wow - great finish to the episode and finally some real action. Hard to believe we're already halfway through the season. Spoiler Why is it always the best characters that get killed off in this show? Rhaenys is definitely dead, and Aegon is definitely still alive. Rhaenys decision to turn around and fight was confoundingly stupid. I'm tiring quickly of Daemon's side quest at Harrenhaal - the payoff better be worth it for him cause right now he looks like a little btch.

Her mission was to protect Rook's Rest. She was doing her duty. She had to face Aemond and Vhagar even though she knew what the outcome would be.

Spoiler Disagree - they never really wanted to take Rook's Rest to begin with - they wanted to lure a dragon from the Blacks and take it out with Vhagar. Once she took out Sunfyre and Aegon she should have peaced the hell out of there and told Rhaenyra that the king was down and King's Landing was unguarded. Could have ended the war. Instead, next week Aegon will come back nearly dead but hailed as the hero who took out the false queen and Meleys. Huge plot hole IMO for someone in Rhaenys who up until now had made really good decisions. But I guess in order to get more seasons out of this they gotta extend it as long as possible.
July 8, 20241 yr Speaking of Rhaenys.... Here's something I just realized.... In the book, her mother was a Baratheon and she had black hair and purple eyes. As she grew older, she had silver streaks in her hair. Why does this matter? Because the whole plot of the original Game of Thrones series/book was that Jon Arryn realized that Baratheon genes are dominant and that all Baratheon children have black hair after reading the History of the Great Houses book. So the fact that she has Targaryen white hair pretty much screws up that entire plot.... (I won't even get into the fact that Corlys is white in the books) It would have made more sense to have House Stong be black and the Princes look mixed than the Velaryons

I don't recall why so I cannot spoil anything, GRRM and his long winded half written story. What is fair to say, sleeping on a bed made from Weirwoods as we are seeing, is causing some issues to someone who is not entirely on a level playing field. He's being confronted with his own personality

He'll be reborn with less guilt and more support of his wife and reinvigorated to help her win the war. Right now, however, the Blacks are getting their asses handed to them.

Spoiler It would be a clever way of making the viewers think one thing and retaining the character, but changing who they are. And introducing Alys Rivers. Targaryen's are known to be unhinged at the best of times As for the actor, Matt Smith is absolutely killing it in this season. Back to where he was in Dr Who.
