If Hollywood didn't suck so bad at making movies, the Eagles 2017 season is worthy of one.

Davey O'Brien.

The first highly-decorated QB in college football history.   He won the Heisman Trophy and the Maxwell Award in 1938, the first quarterback to win either.  Since 1981, the Davey O'Brien Award is given annually to the best quarterback in college football.

Fourth overall pick out of TCU by the Eagles in 1939.  O'Brien became the first Heisman trophy winner to play in the NFL. He only played for only two season. The Eagles were 2-19-1 over that span and O'Brien retired after the 1940 season.  He was first-team All-Pro in 1939.

3 things I remember from that game like it was yesterday

1) Killing a joint with WestCoastO, CaliEagle (RIP) and LTD (RIP) before the game, then wandering around for what felt like 2 hours with CE and LTD trying to find our seats.

2) Pattersons 99 yard fumble return

3) Being tapped on the shoulder by some dude from the board who I had no idea was at the game, didn’t know he knew I was going to the game and was sitting no where near us. What a weirdo

I pretty much lost my voice on that Patterson return. It shouldn't take that long to run 99 yards. Guys do it in ten seconds all the time in track. It seemed like it took him 35-40 seconds.

As you can tell, I had terrible seats in that dump of a stadium. When I got the tickets, I thought I was smart because I didn't want to be looking into the sun all game. I'm so glad the NFL doesn't play in baseball stadiums anymore.

If you think I'm weird, I wonder what the other 9000 Eagles fans that  I approached and called, "paco?" think of me ...
