That’s what I’ve heard is being reported as well. Guy never fired a shot. He was several holes ahead and they just happened to catch him before Trump got anywhere near him

He was able to push the muzzle of his gun through the chainlink fence outside the golf club, authorities said.

He was 300 to 500 yards away from Trump. Secret Service spotted Routh and opened fire.

Routh was able to get way, but was later stopped by authorities and arrested.He was found with two backpacks and a GoPro camera.The rifle was recovered from the bushes outside the golf course.

This is the second attempt made on Trump's life in two months.

yes. someone got a photo of his vehicle and plate. They tracked it down with cameras and pulled him over.

Sounds like a much tougher shot than Crooks had.

Sounds like Trump was on hole 5. Shooter had a vantage point where he could see both holes 6 and 7. Secret service moves a hole ahead of him to clear the area and they spotted the gun through the fence.
