Just missed it, what happened?

Yup.  Off to a good and very quick start.  Nice cross ice pass by TK, though for a second didn't look like Couts would get enough of his body behind it to one-time well.

Breakaway feed from Konecny gets to Couts, who shot in a sharp wrister.

And they give it back almost as quick.  Shot from the point with traffic in front and a big loud 'doink'.

EDIT:  Unlucky there.  Off the post then off Jones' leg into the net.

 

And then the Canucks get it right back on their first shot.

That was a nifty PPG using the boards to help pass it around.  JVR with the tap in.

 

Nifty setup by my man G.

JVR should have shot there in the slot instead of trying a cute pass to Laughton.

And going back on the PP.  Would be nice to keep the O momentum going with another PPG.

 

Not a good 2nd PP.  Canucks get the puck and pass it around killing clock while the Flyers lethargically chase them down.

 

Good scoring chance with Couts trying to return the favour and threads a pass to TK in front of the net, but his deflection is snuffed out.

 

Canucks should be thanking Halak when they get in the locker room at intermission.  Flyers could have 4-5 goals already.  Creating good chances so far.

 

Flyers on the PK.  McEwan gets an additional minor for grabbing and holding Schenn's visor while they were throwing fists.

Probably viewed it as a b!tch move that he kept the helmet on.

Canucks look to be getting their skates under them now while the Flyers look to have lost a bit of steam.  Need to kill this pen and maintain the lead and try to get back to creating scoring chances.

I was just gonna say, I don't like the momentum shift in this game right now at all.  Been sitting on this thin lead for too long on top of that.

They had loads of good scoring chances in the 1st, but only ended the period up 2-1.  They outshot the Canucks 15-4 in the 1st, but so far are being outshot 13-3 in the 2nd.  Might be more now.

 

Opportunity on the PP.  They've survived this period so far and getting a PPG here would be huge going into the 3rd.

 

Oh, boy.  6-on-4 PP coming up for the Canucks with the goalie pulled.  Short time remaining but that's gonna be a crowded offensive zone to contend with for Jones.

Talk about good fortune for that puck to hit off iron. Being on the penalty kill might help them though they can clear the puck without it being iced even with being down 6 on 4

They hold on.  Aside from the early goal, Jones was outstanding tonight.  Only one goal ceded against some tough shots.
