Horrible. The Canadiens didn't even have to do anything, the flyers couldn't even complete a pass after it got out of the zone, just kept hitting each other in the skates

Right. Forcing way to many passes. Been like that most of the game 

I hope that thompson open net doesnt haunt us

I mean they were kind of like that in the third Period Against Tampa And survived. I think they have these times were there so skilled that they think they can get away with it and against teams in a longer series you’re not gonna be able to do it Consistently and not pay for it.

Hart has not let up more than a goal in any game since the return. 

I actually don't think Price had that great of a game. He was way out of position twice and the flyers failed to make him pay. He got bailed out by an absolute desperation stick save on one and grant rushing a shot on the other. 

They'll finish those chances more often than not going forward 

We need to all take a moment and realize that if it wasnt Hart between the pipes any other flyers recent history goalie gives up the tying goal. It is what it is

Patrick sharp nailed it. A lot of Montreal’s great chances in the second were self inflicted by the Flyers defense. We have to be better at moving the puck and getting it out of the zone. It quietly Has been a small issue for stretches even in the round robin. If they eliminate most of those turnovers this game probably isn’t even a 2-1 game 

Felt like they played their C+ game tonight and still came away with a win. 

 

They didnt play their best but they did what they needed to do to finish a win. If thompson scores the back door it wouldve been greater

True. Thompson should’ve buried his. And we had chances. you hope it doesn’t become physiological and get in the Flyers heads Where They psyche themselves out.  

Hart was awesome but I’m betting knowing how he is that he had some he’d likely want back. Like the one where he gave them a juicy rebound late and danault has an excellent shot at tying it and the ding off crossbar. I’m expecting us to play better in game two and better ice. I am not sure Montreal could play better than they did in the second and i don’t think it’s sustainable cause they hadn’t done it all year. 

Now they have stared the real deal i expect them to come out dominant game 2 and win 4-1

Eh, say what you want about the ugliness of this game and Montreal not being a good team, but they smoked a Penguins team that has massive playoff experience and sleep walks through the regular season waiting to turn it on for the playoffs.  

Going 3-0 in round robin play against better teams that were shedding rust and playing for nothing but seeding of questionable importance may have been easier than matching up against a lesser squad that just played 4 playoff games against the Pens.

They just won a tight playoff game in which their 21 year old goalie looked outstanding.  Nothing but positive takeaways from tonight.

 

I'm also curious to see how we fare on ice that didn't just have two OTs played on it. With Montreal being the less talented team bad ice kind of levels the playing field for them. They do have speed but a lot of the flyers' skill players thrive on high difficulty passes and puck movement, clean ice makes them more dangerous as well.

Man, Carter Hart really did model his game after Price.  He's just so confident in his movements.  He is the real deal and I couldn't be happier!

Like that one save in which it bounced up onto the back of his shoulder.  The ,moment he saw where it was, he calmly pushed off and slid out away from the crease so it wouldn't drop into the net behind him.  Granted the puck could have easily bounced behind him to begin with, but that subtle movement just ensured it would not go in once he noticed it.  Love the kid.
