August 14, 20205 yr This game is reminiscent of teams of recent flyers past that don’t show up for half the game and have a furious come back after that but fall short as they failed show up for the first period and a half
August 14, 20205 yr I just don't understand how you let 3 guys just stand in the slot, with 2 of them in the crease, and not even touch them. There is no skill to this offense it's get in the way and shoot at first touch. You see every time one of their guys touches the puck they almost immediately throw it on net and try to create chaos.
August 14, 20205 yr Wow great acting job On that one. it would be nice if our Captain ever showed up while in Toronto.

I’ll always appreciate the player he used to be, but he’s been pretty much garbage in the playoffs for a long time now. Jake can go too. Let the youth take over completely and replace the old, underproducing vets.
August 14, 20205 yr I'd like to chalk the momentum of the first period up to a "win one for the gipper" motivation for the Habs, but the Flyers as a whole have looked terrible. Sloppy passes, miscommunications, bouncing off of checks, just an all around ugly period.
August 14, 20205 yr This spray and pray tactic of throwing every puck on net won't work forever, the flyers just need to stop chasing them around. Stay in position and the pucks are going to come to them. The Canadiens are just throwing the puck around letting the flyers chase it out of position, so frustrating to watch. Look at Braun on the second goal. Literally skated in a circle chasing the puck We dump the puck into the zone and no one is there, we throw the puck in front of the net and no one is there. The flyers are so much better than this is team it's embarrassing. "Grit" only gets you so far, and that's what montreal is depending on. The flyers need to come out of this intermission and outclass this Fing team like they should.

Day after their coach has a heart problem, they were going to be firing on all cylinders. They'll probably win this one on that emotion but it sounds like Julien is gonna be fine, they won't have it again.

If you were going to trade him the time to do it was a year or two ago. I made the suggestion On the old board saying if you can get a haul for him and have those prospects grow with our stockpile of young prospects then it was something to think of. I love giroux but I think he’s overrated. That doesn’t mean he’s not very very good. I just don’t think he’s a superstar player and nor will he ever be. He might have a season or two where he plays like that but consistently in the playoffs where captain and stars step up he’s been nonexistent since early in his career. he really hasn’t been great in the postseason since early in his career. In his first 53 playoff games he had 23 goals and 61 points. In his last 16 playoff games 1 goal and 5 points.
August 14, 20205 yr Habs should thank the refs for that one.... gift goal on a bogus call. Ain’t giving up but man what a performance
August 14, 20205 yr Pretty vital for any chance of a comeback to score on this 5 on 3 feels very much like carey price is going to pitch a shutout here.
