August 14, 20205 yr I really have zero idea of what the flyers are trying to do right now. 2 guys enter the zone on two different occasions and both of them have zero help, immediately get surrounded by Montreal. So they have to dump the puck in and there STILL isn't anyone to retrieve it.
August 14, 20205 yr If they get literally one clean breakout that leads to a dangerous chance montreal is going to ease off the forecheck. They keep just throwing guys up because the flyers can't compete even one pass to get out of the zone

People don’t want to admit it but it’s not like the Flyers haven’t had multiple periods in Toronto where they didn’t look very good but managed to pull out ahead and weather it. Third period vs. tampa they were dominated. Second period vs. Washington they were outplayed. Last game second period and this game the first period. Eventually it was going to catch up and burn you. Frankly feels like flyers believed they’d win this game and the habs would roll over. And frankly i haven’t been overly impressed with our performance dating back to the second period last game. We are now 4.5 periods into this series. Hard not to say the habs have not been the better team for most of it. Only period i think the flyers have played great in this series was the first Period in game 1.
August 14, 20205 yr Weird, put pucks on net and the Canadiens get just as flustered. They don't like their own game
August 14, 20205 yr Man some really good scoring chances this period, just can’t find the back of the net.

It should be 6-0. 10 minutes ago, Green Dog said: Cowboys have Aldon Smith? As in the DPOY from SF from a few years ago? Yeah, he is in the best shape of his life too.

August 14, 20205 yr Our defensemen getting the puck out of our defensive zone have been horrific for the better part of the last 6 periods we’ve played. It’s alarmingly bad. Bad passes. Bad decisions. It’s like watching a pee wee hockey club try to get the puck out. It actually reminds me of the series against the devils after we beat the penguins.
August 14, 20205 yr Ghost and Braun were horrific today. Niskanen looks like ish too. They can't play a skill game against this team, they need to play Montreal game which is just fly to pucks and throw em on goal. They go wildly out of position on the forecheck but it doesn't matter because the flyers can't get out of the zone, and the few times they were able to it has lead to shots on goal. I fully expect the flyers to wash this trash team the rest of the series.

We won two games in overtime and the other game Montreal pounded us 4-1.

August 14, 20205 yr Holy Lord... Well at least after this we don't have to go back to Montreal's home ice for 2 games.
August 14, 20205 yr Yup, true. I don't think theres any doubt teams trying to come back in situations like this use the crowd to get amped during the course of the game.

Obviously Price is the X factor I’ll say this, if they lose game 3 on Sunday then I think the flyers are in a world of trouble. The Canadiens are playing at a much higher level and more energy and they made it into their type of game. They want you playing frenetic and a chaotic type of game. I think part of the reason Montreal is playing at a higher level right now is cause they had a legitimate playoff series vs. Pittsburgh whereas the Flyers round robin was considered playoff but it didn’t have near the intensity those qualifying series had. also doesn’t help that literally g, coots, voracek and JVR have done next to nothing in Toronto and are making over 30+ million And price And shea Weber are playing his best hockey Hockey of the year right now. Shea Weber is playing like vintage Shea Weber.

Complete garbage effort. I didn’t like how they looked in game 1. This was a whitewashing. I didn’t put a lot of stock in the round robin games cause it seemed Boston and Washington just didn’t care. Flyers better wake up. They should be embarrassed. Even though the Flyers won all three games they had really Bad stretches in every one of those games for at least a period. Boston in the first game the first 12 to 15 minutes of the game Boston controlled it. The Washington game in the second period they were dominated. They were basically taking it to the Flyers. And then Tampa the third just completely took it to them. They were getting it taken to them by Tampa in the 3rd and just hart won it. And it continued after the first period in game 1 Against Montreal. It also doesn’t help I don’t think they’re playing with the nearly the same intensity that Montreal is. Part of that could be Montreal had to play a do or die series before getting to the Flyers so they’re already in game six of playoff mode. Whereas the round robin really wasn’t a playoff because if you lost all three you were still gonna make the playoffs. I’m actually nervous because if they lose game three I’m not sure if they can come back in the series with how Carey Price is playing and it likely would mean for even more of the series the habs have been the better team.
August 15, 20205 yr This is where AV shows his chops as a high level head coach. Make adjustments to regain the advantage. Defense needs to move the puck faster, and they need to step up the physical game as a group. If Weber and Petry are going to log big minutes on their D, they need to be hit whenever they have the puck in their own end. The good news is you probably don’t want a short series, then have to sit around for a full week doing nothing in the bubble.

It always seems like whenever I try and make ANY kinds of plans for watching a game, be it a Flyers, Phillies, Sixers, or even an Eagles game, there's a bettors chance the team loses badly and the game sucks. Has happened to me way too often. I still think 3pm on a Friday afternoon might be the dumbest start time for a hockey game. It’s just a strange point in the day and after a loss like that, I was just pissd, Didn't want to do anything fun. AND I tried to go to bed early because of it all. Still can't get to sleep as I type this. F'ing 3pm start!

Normally MTL would have momentum because they’re going home for 2 games; this way they just line up again at 0-0 and start again in Game 3. I would reunite Giroux and Voracek — I don’t see a lot of chemistry between Giroux and Couturier. Couts/Konecny, Giroux/Voracek, and Hayes/JVR
