Yeah, what kills me about the Chapman thing was how they tried to brush it under the rug and put one of their own guys up for a MOH to try and further hide it.

There’s an old joke from Vietnam: How do you find a Navy SEAL in the jungle? You put up a tv camera.

What do you mean by lutrelle farce and who is Chapman?

Remember when I said all these "cuts" were going right to Elon's pockets, and I was told I had TDS? Good times!

The Marcus Lutrelle farce is the whole Lone Survivor thing. Turns out it didn’t actually happen like that. The mission was originally assigned to Marine Recon before the SEALs took it. The Marines told the SEALs to do their plan, which was an insertion a long ways off from the target and then marching to overwatch so that the enemy didn’t know they were there. SEALs decided just to have helos do fake drops around the objective for a week and then do a real drop right next to it. Well when nothing happens in your small remote mountain village for awhile and then for a week helos are flying around, you know something is up, so they sent up "goat herders” in every direction to find US troops. They were found out of course, but then the firefights didn’t happen like in the movie. There’s actually some evidence that indicated Luttrell didn’t even fire a shot. Also, when they had comms issues, we’ll the Marines told them that their comms plan was insufficient and to take more powerful radios, which they didn’t. Then during the whole rescue operation, the SEAL commander told the CH-47 drivers to get there as fast as possible. Well the problem is that the CH-47 is way faster than the AH-64 helos that were with them whos job it was to clear the LZs so that they wouldn’t get ambushed by enemy on insertion, which is what happened and they were shot down and killed. More or less they embellished the whole thing to not make themselves look incompetent.

MSgt. Chapman was an AF CCT (basically AF spec ops that operate with other spec ops units and their job is to direct and call in air strikes). He inserted onto a mountain with SEALs and they immediately came under enemy fire. Chapman started pushing up and fighting the enemy. He got hit and knocked out. The other SEALs thought he was dead, they retreated and left via helicopter. Then Chapman woke back up and started re-engaging the enemy, all by himself, since the SEALs left him behind. He was killed. Then the SEALs realized they Fd up, tried to sweep it under the rug, and in doing so even went to far as to get another SEAL there a MOH to try and make it look like he was the hero and not Chapman. Eventually Chapman got a MOH for it, but that was in spite of the SEALs.

Certain units are really good, but to put it in business terms, the SEALs are the spec ops equivalent of a company with a really good marketing department that produces an inferior product. The two Army Tier 1 units are the absolute best of the best. One of them was involved heavily in the hunt for Pablo Escobar, and after thirty years the only specifics we have are that they were heavily involved in the hunt for Pablo Escobar. No details on who, what, when, where, or how. Just that they were there, and that info came from a third party leak.

If the Army did the Abottabad raid, we would know absolutely nothing about what happened other than the fact that it happened.

Wait, so Hollywood embellished something??  No kidding.

It’s not that Hollywood embellished it, it’s that the guy who was there embellished it.

It's not just Hollywood, his entire account of what happened didn't make a lot of sense even before he tried to lay everything out in detail for his book deal. We'll never really know what happened since he was the only one who's still alive (aside from the villager who also said Lutrell lied about what happened after he encountered him), but it's pretty safe to say he's being less than truthful about a lot of it and the Navy did their best to cover for him.

At the end of the day, I don't care all that much if SEALs or anyone else want to cash in on a post-military life and embellish a bit while they're at it, since these guys put their lives on the line in the most dangerous situations imaginable. But when it crosses from self-enriching embellishment to outright fabrications, it becomes kind of ridiculous. Chris Kyle was a hero too, but he also tarnished his legacy when he tried to make up some wild sheet about sniping looters from the top of the superdome or getting into bar fights with Jesse Ventura. All that kinda crap does is call everything else into question and destroys a lot of their credibility.

I get where you’re coming from on that, but that kind of thing does a disservice to those who didn’t make it back.

Decent people who were in the ish only tell their stories to people who were also in the ish. When they tell a story to an outsider, they tell the story of someone else they were with. There’s exceptions to that, but not many.

Trump and MAGA sold out and now we're all F'ed. Hard to imagine they'd be this blatant about it, though.

Anyone in the field knows this is a complete and total lie. We're getting tried every single day from Russian and Russian sponsored actors. My team has the scars to prove it.

Proving that Trump is weak on Russia. The USA is now weaker because of this move.

According to Maga, this guy is a Liberal Snowflake, and Hitler and the German Forces were the real Patriots.

Carville Speculates Trump Has Syphilis After ‘Mad’ Zelensky Meeting

Not one to mince words even in the best of times, Democratic strategist James Carville eviscerated President Donald Trump after his shockingly undiplomatic meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday.

Describing the Republican president as a "fat f---ing slob” with a "beached whale body” on the latest edition of his Politicon podcast, Carville speculated that a purported rash of red blotches on Trump’s hands could be a sign of syphilis that has addled the president’s brain.

"When you see that condition, the first thing that you suspect is syphilis,” Carville raged, noting that the condition causes brain damage in its later stages. "That boy ain’t right.”

Yay tariffs!!  Hope you knuckle draggers are ready for an immediate increase of $0.25/gallon in the next few days.  Trump lower prices indeed.  🤣
