November 13, 20241 yr I lived in the DC/Baltimore area for 10 years and always thought they should spread the wealth of govt agencies throughout the country. Everyone knows that a federal job is pretty much employment for life, and it's all concentrated in DC/Maryland/NOVA and it's absolutely sprawling. People live and commute from 1-2 hours away. It's at least 100k if you count employees, contractors, and everyone who feeds off of the federal system.
