March 28Mar 28 I still find the potential outcome here to be simultaneously terrifying and hysterical. If Trump were to actually invade Greenland (and no, I don't think there's any chance he will), then technically that would be an attack on a NATO member (Denmark). So per Article V, we would be obligated to protect Denmark from...us? Again, this will never happen. It just shows how all of this is idiotic performance theater.
March 28Mar 28 Dude looks like he smothered his face in feces. And the other looks like a bottle of rotten Elmer's glue.

You make good points, but seeing how this clown show is destroying things left and right, I don’t know anymore. The arrogance of this regime and the way they want to play strong boy with all of our allies really makes it seem that anything is possible. They would disregard Article 5 and basically say to all of NATO: s c r e w you, we’re taking it and there is nothing you can do about it.

I mean, if we actually invaded Greenland, we'd be at war with the rest of NATO. I think Trump and his cabinet are legitimately retarded, but even I don't think they'll go that far.

March 28Mar 28 Quote U.S. officials went door-to-door in Greenland to find anyone who wanted to be visited by the Vances. They found no one A local travel company in Greenland’s capital also cancelled a planned visit by Usha Vance No one wants to talk to Usha Vance—at least no one in Greenland. US officials have reportedly been traveling around the Danish-controlled territory looking for locals who wanted to receive a visit from the Second Lady, according to a report from Danish TV 2. Greenlanders' response? No thanks. Residents aren't the only ones snubbing the Second Lady ahead of her high-profile visit to the island; Tupilak Travel, which is based in Greenland's capital city, Nuuk, initially said it would host Usha Vance, but pulled out on Thursday. In a post on Facebook, the company said that the US Consulate called and asked if it wanted the visit, and the company initially said yes, but then backed out.

I don't think this is the least bit performative in Trump's little mind. He really means it. Now that doesn't mean there is a reasonable or practical path for him to take. Let's assume you are right and he doesn't have the actual nutz to use the military threat and tell NATO to F off. Do you have the same conclusion with Vance? Vance is one fatal big mac choking episode from taking over.
March 28Mar 28 I think trump would do it. What I'm curious about would be if his cult minions would obey and do it

There's no plan or strategy. All they care about is winning that day's news cycle. Trump himself is too stupid and impatient to have long term goals. His entire cabinet simply puts on a show playing for an audience of one.

He clearly has no real plans. I've started listening to a pod with Scaramucci and he says Trump comes to the office in the morning, makes a few calls, and then decides what to do that day. There is no more planning involved.
March 28Mar 28 Seeing how we are only a few months in and have suffered through one security breech and lots of ideocracy each news days, I don't see how we make it through a whole term without a real crisis occurring.
