January 8, 20251 yr Surprised he hasn't talked about kicking out blue states. Or has he? I can't keep up with all the crazy.
January 8, 20251 yr Well the plus side of The Gilded Age is that at the end of it we got Teddy Roosevelt, so we may have that going for us again this time.
January 8, 20251 yr watching people glorifying a POTUS that spends his days creating division by "trolling" is neato. especially when they cried like bizels over being called garbage.
January 8, 20251 yr I love merica. I voted for Trump for 1 reason: American invasion of Greenland https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-addresses-top-issues-renaming-210514313.html YES! I was predominantly a one-issue voter, and that issue was the exorbitant cost of seal meat. By threatening our ally Denmark and using military force if necessary, the Trump administration can proudly claim Greenland as a U.S. territory, dramatically lowering the cost of seal meat for American consumers like myself. That will allow me and my fellow MAGA supporters to affordably make Suaasat, a Greenlandic soup, AS IS OUR RIGHT AS AMERICANS!

January 8, 20251 yr This issue is so important to Americans. Not lowering gas prices or food prices, but this. Greene promises bill renaming Gulf of Mexico ‘ASAP’ https://www.yahoo.com/news/greene-promises-bill-renaming-gulf-185539217.html Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has promised she will introduce a bill "ASAP” to back President-elect Trump’s idea to rename the Gulf of Mexico. In a post online, Greene shared a video of Trump pitching the idea to rename the body of water to the "Gulf of America.” "President @realDonaldTrump’s second term if off to a GREAT start,” the Georgia Republican said. "I will be introducing legislation ASAP to officially change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to its rightful name, the Gulf of America!” Earlier Tuesday, Trump told reporters he wanted to change the name of the gulf as he criticized Mexico for taking advantage of the U.S. over trade and immigration issues.

He wants to re-acquire the Panama Canal (and I assume the Canal Zone), acquire Greenland (currently part of Denmark), and acquire neighboring Canada. What about the cost of eggs?
January 8, 20251 yr I think we can all agree that anyone who bished and whined about not sending money and sending resources to Ukraine, but then voted for this can F right off forever right?

To me the touching tip thingy is when Dave and someone like KZ share an opinion. Civil war - Not true in a strict sense. I always said I meant a significant volume of politically motivated violent events and not an actual civil war. The rise in vitriol has developed as I thought it would but we've managed to avoid the real hard violence so far anyway. Happy to be wrong on that one.
January 8, 20251 yr Honestly, Trumps thoughts on Greenland and the canal make a lot of sense (can't believe I am saying this), but the way he is going about it is completely wrong. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/01/08/trump-military-greenland-panama-canal/77515413007/

We already have a full alignment with Greenland/Denmark with bases on Greenland, full NATO agreements with Denmark, etc. A further discussion there on deepening that partnership makes sense.

Thus why I said the way he is going about it is wrong. Agreed that strengthening our partnerships make sense though for sure.
January 8, 20251 yr deepening our partnerships...using force to take them as part of the united states...i mean, whatever.
January 8, 20251 yr Maga doesn't care about deficits or deficit spending unless it's the Dems doing the spending. Bunch of hypocrites and liars. Speaker Johnson: ‘Intention’ is to increase debt limit in massive Trump agenda bill

Eastern US to Greenland, through Quebec! Constantly going on the attack until you exhaust your resources is going to lose. The best strategy is to lay low, wait for your enemies weaken each other, then go for the kill.
January 8, 20251 yr 37 minutes ago, toolg said: He really is playing Risk with the world map Actually, I think this is exactly what he is doing. He seems to think he can just coerce these other places to give up their territory. At this point the other Euro countries are just ignoring him publicly (outside of Denmark who is forced to respond) but if he keeps beating the drum it will absolutely weaken NATO. Should he actually land on Greenland then the other NATO countries would have to assist Denmark militarily against the US (in theory).
