That lady is in Chicago. Did you want to talk about DC or Chicago?

I'm using DC as an example of your fears being BS and TDS. Nation wide we deploy them for riots and disasters. Chicago and others are disasters.

Look at the horrors that could be coming to a city near you

No. But I agree people like that need to go.

DC is a special case given the Federal Govt's role in overseeing DC. In any case, deploying federal troops has always been (legally and morally though, yes, legal in DC) for the use in actual emergencies AND no, high murder rates are not emergencies. Sending in federal troops to do police work is police state type stuff. The stuff we always stood against historically given that freedom was a central value in the American system/way/culture. These moves are purely performative by Trump and designed to rile up the base and cement his power. They are wrong plain and simple AND that doesn't mean you can't send in dozens of good things the troops have or will do.

For doing something in their personal time that doesn't hurt anyone?

They are actual emergencies. Dems and a few horrible DAs have let our cities become disaster zones, so sending in troops for a limited time to clean them up is not making it a police state. It's fixing what liberals have refused to do. Troops are regularly deployed during riots to settle things down. Same here.

Those working in government agencies should not be living a Missy Elliott song in public. Do whatever in your home, but that shows some bad judgment and he wasn't fired. He quit. I'm saying I agree with the post. Bye.

So you believe people in government agencies shouldn't have lives outside of the workplace. Understood

No they actually aren't. Things aren't worse off now than they've been over the last several decades. The problems are significant and Dem control has made them worse in some places but that's not the same thing as a flat out emergency. The 70s were probably the worst period in the cities during my lifetime. Lay off the orange kool Fing aid and try to stop buying into the BS on all sides and not just from the left.

We disagree, obviously.

Not in public working for the gov, no. Happy he is gone. People with that kind of bad judgement should not be making health decisions for our country.

I have to agree with Die Hard here. Anyone who thinks Missy Elliot is good music can't be trusted.

I dont even have to read that article. I agree with the premise. It does feel more reckless and ruthless this time.

It's just really unfortunate that there was no way to predict any of this would happen.

Because Trump told you.

We can't be having public officials "get their freak on" in public. They should be doing it behind closed doors at parties with Jeffrey Epstein!

How often are you even in a big city? Honestly, I don't think you have any idea what you are talking about on this particular topic.

Using the military/guard for day-to-day law enforcement has always been and will always be a very bad choice. Thinking that a 30 day federal troop presence is somehow going to wipe out crime in large cities is extremely naive. This is simply another PR stunt by Orange Man at best and at worst he intends to stay and then we would have a police state.

I think we can all agree that crime is a problem in a lot of US cities and other areas. Using your logic, wouldn’t it be a good idea to send the NG to some of the cities in red states?! There are a bunch of cities in so called red states that have a higher crime and also murder rate than DC or other Dem run cities. It shouldn’t matter who runs them. And another point: why not send these troops to the worst areas of the city?! The places where these gangs actually operate? When people riot (the left, the right or whatever group) the government should go in to squash the unrest. It shouldn’t matter who’s doing it.

Love that line. And who are the mayors in most of those big cities in the red states? But yeah, I'd have no problem sending the NG into any large city where gangs/criminals/far left DAs have turn them into disasters. Dems have treated them like an infomercial to set it and forget it. Do I want a police state? No. Do I like what I'm seeing in DC for a limited time? Yeah.

No you aren't lady. I fly back to Philly and Denver multiple times a year. Both have turned to crap in the last 5+ years. Spin the wheel again. I know LEOs over the bridge in Jersey who have said they don't even like going in the city anymore because they don't want to deal with it.
