In terms of issues in cities, it's no where close to as bad as it was in the 70s. The current discourse is due to a hyperbolic temperament. Things are worse there than they were 20 years ago, but still nowhere close to how bad they could actually get.

In terms of law and order, the easiest way is to seriously enforce smaller laws. Sets the precedent for society as a whole. More or less the broken windows theory in action.

Deploying the guard will have absolutely no improvement regarding this. It's just performative and does no actual work, so MAGA eats it up.
