Abraham Lincoln in the Gettysburg Address said that a government of the people, by the people and for the people shall not perish from the Earth.

Trump is of the billionaire class, by the billionaire class and for the billionaire class. Trump is so out of touch with the struggle of the middle class.

Give the middle class a tax cut. Tax the billionaire class and corporations.

Ok, so how do you balance attracting foreign talent with making sure US citizens have a fair shot at those jobs?

Are H1Bs getting paid less for their work to make them more attractive or is it that there just isn’t enough people around to take those gigs?

The latter. At least on the medical side. And based on how the past 5ish years have gone I don't see American youths racing into the field either.

There either aren't enough or they're not as talented/experienced. Tech companies already have to pay tens of thousands per individual to sponsor them through the process, which they wouldn't be doing if they didn't have to. At $100k, the juice won't be worth the squeeze so they'll now have to settle for candidates who won't be as productive.

They will follow the talent and move some R&D overseas. This whole assault on H1-B visas is insane. There’s no backlog of screwed over computer science grads losing jobs to foreigners. There’s US isn’t producing nearly enough STEM graduates.

trash

But don't dare say Charlie Kirk's shooter was MAGA. That's so disrespectful!

Eh, recent CS grads are having trouble catching on.

That said it's more about AI and the current economic environment than H1-Bs.

Tech hiring in general is down.

Yup. Though I'd say that's due to upper management's perception of what AI can bring rather than the reality of it. They'll have to learn some lessons the hard way before they figure out it won't magically replace a third of their developers over night.

Just another Sunday

I don't think this is appropriate for WH grounds. Still glad I voted for him but I don't agree with that

Plus that.

This rule does not apply to drunk texts sent on the signal app.

Totally unnecessary and honestly craps all over the sanctity White House. This is not the place for that kind of stuff. We don’t need wrestling, ufc, or 200m ball rooms.
