And the number immediately following it was 1.7% and you still sat there and actually thought, "Hey, I bet he's talking about inflation, because that's definitely very plausible given how close 1.7% is to 3.0% and being that I'm a very well read and informed adult, I'll make a great point by suggesting that it is!" roll

The first number was annual and the last was annualized through 2025. But yeah totally obvious, only someone with downs would react like this

Right so just to clarify.  GDP growth down 40%.   Job growth cut in half. Both a direct result of Trump's idiotic trade wars.  So in other words, the economy is in a much worse state this year than it was last year.

In November of 2024 the GDP growth rate was 2.8%.

What is it now?

I'm sorry, what's a growth rat? Is that different from growth rate? It's an important distinction to make, lest we all get confused and think you're referring to inflation!

Inbred moron: "He only said GDP, not GDP growth! I totally got him!"

Also inbred moron: "Who are you trying to impress with this? Are you 12?"

Look at how Trump has destroyed the GDP. It's sad. One day when we emerge from this poverty, we'll all remember the commie heroes like WGB who got us out of this mess

Biden curbstomped our economy the likes of which we've never seen, but yeah, Trump is the same too! It was a pandemic, they had no choice!

Not sure why you're asking a question I already answered? In Q1 it was an annualized rate of -0.5%. In Q2 it was an annualized rate of +3.8%. So that means for the year we're at an annualized rate of +1.7%. We'd need annualized growth of about 4% in Q3 and Q4 to hit 2.8% this year, so that isn't happening. So yes, it's basically a given at this point that GDP growth will be worse this year than it has been the last 2 years. And again on top of that, job growth has been cut in half. This was all a very predictable result by anyone with a basic understanding of macroeconomics.

God, you people are morons. The economy is getting absolutely torched right now and you're still railing against Biden.

It's worth also noting that the economy under Biden thrived despite a rapid increase in the prime rate to combat inflation.

If we're laying the economic health of the nation largely at the feet of the president, then Biden should get a lot of credit for the soft landing (along with Powell) and avoiding a recession or even a protracted period of stagnant growth.

The charts have flattened significantly since Trump took office and started firebombing the economy with tariffs, crony capitalism, and policies specifically targeting the blue areas of the country that contribute the most to GDP.

Not to mention tossing millions of skilled laborers out of the country, making government even less efficient with random firings and forcing our best trade partners to look elsewhere.
