Exactly. If I have to read another article/post about how the Dems need to bring these idiots back from the brink and save them from their own decisions I’m going to blow my F’ing brains out. For once I’d like to see an article about how the Reps need to bring sane voters back. But when it comes to politics, somehow it’s been decided that only the left has agency. The right is so F’ing retarded that we can never expect them to make a sane decision without extreme concession from the left. F that. They should live with their own decisions and any bullsheet political games the Reps play, the Dems should play the exact same games.

I think a lot of that is the tail wagging the dog. They were losing marketshare to Newsmax and OAN so they went even further off the deep end to stem the bleeding, and the viewership of those other two are riled up by online content.

Twenty-five years ago my super lib new deal democrat grandfather used to occasionally watch Fox News because "they're the only network that reports accurately on Iraq". Over time I think their viewer base got worse which dragged them even further down.

If we can do some damage to the bots online, it'll cool the fire a bit.

The liberals' problem is that they can't get out of the shadow of leftists, and generally on the left each tent pole actually cares about a lot of things at the same time, and if all of their bases aren't covered they flip out.

On the right, even if something else happens that they don't like, they don't care because their tent pole is still standing.

Yeah, I get that Fox is one piece of a massive machine but it’s still the beating heart of the right wing media ecosystem. And there’s just no way to maintain a constitutional republic when an entity that large and influential has its sights set on destroying it.

If you mean the "both sides” approach then the answer is that very few take that position and those that do regularly get **** on by both sides. In any case, at this point nearly everyone in that lane has moved to an anti Trump stance and rightly so.

If you mean the Dems making a targeted effort to recoup the bloc they have lost well then that hasn’t been tried. They also haven’t tried the super aggressive F all Repubs approach you would like to see. They should certainly go for one of those in a strong coordinated manner.
