I've seen it happen a thousand times. The same will happen with the government.

I'm sure we're all going to get our $1,000 check soon though. A US citizen, CEO and the world's most successful entrepreneur volunteering to try to bring some organization and savings to our fiscally corrupt government is now a "foreigner just putting on a political spectacle" 😂😂Never change democrats.

May 27, 2025May 27 So we went from Musk being the best businessman ever volunteering his time to help first ccorruption, to he’s just a figurehead. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
May 27, 2025May 27 It was always just performance theater. No one in Washington actually wants to cut spending. Morons fell for it, and now politicians outside DC will act outraged. There's no votes in actually cutting spending, so it will never happen.

I assert that at least 2/3 of that small cracker jack young incel will quit before the end of the year. Musk will probably hire half of them himself.

May 28, 2025May 28 DOGE was formed out of a previous agency whose mandate was the same: identify and mitigate wasteful spending. Trump just has to market everything he does while also blithely stumbling through the execution with total disregard for advice from people who actually know what they're doing. Leaving someone else to clean up the mess while he takes an undeserved victory lap.We have seen this play out time and again. The bottom line is that our deficit is primarily caused by non-discretionary spending on gov't benefits we cannot afford because we cut taxes without cutting spending. If citizens (voters) did not want these benefits, they would be easy to cut. Voters - including Republicans - want a free lunch.Try to do necessary things to rightsize spending to our desired tax level: raise the SS retirement age and index it to life expectancy, means test SS and Medicare, tighten eligibility requirements for Medicaid .. let me know how that goes over with the Republican voting base. Maybe stop pretending Republicans aren't part of the problem, and that Trump isn't exacerbating an already bad problem.

It could have been something really valuable but instead it was just a big show like 95% of everything Trump does. Musk is certainly not happy about how things went down and the Repubs were never serious about wanting to put a dent in the deficit. This has been one big "own the libs" event. Note: I'm not saying there weren't some good cuts as I'm sure there were but there is a ton of mistakes and most of the reported savings are just bull sheet marketing.

But it would be nice if the left didn't scream their lungs out about how cuts to entitlements will kill your grandma. Because, ya know...their so invested in making meaningful reforms to social programs.
