Not something I said. I have little doubt that there is wasteful spending.

Literally every venture that has a budget, employees, spending, etc. has wasteful spending.

The question is always about whether the "juice is worth the squeeze" in rooting it out.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that taking a chainsaw to our research funding agencies - by a bunch of idiots who have no idea how research funding works - is going to be a massive net-negative on our GDP long-term.

DOGE was a performative mess that will cost taxpayers multiples of what it claimed to save.

And nowhere did I say that I took it at face value.

I simply cannot with the "bunch of idiots who have no idea" from someone who would have voted in Kamala Harris.

As I write this, I'm currently listening to Elizabeth Warren rail against the evils of our banking system on CNBC.

If Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren are the types of "serious people" you'd rather have in power then I'll take the alternative 100 days out of 100.

Companies with a few thousand employees wouldn't even be looking at "software licenses" at the granularity DOGE is doing right now because it would not be worth the time. Add in the fact that the government is likely getting discounted bulk licensing pricing and this activity reaches peak levels of stupidity.

More proof that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about

Brain Dead Biden and his auto pen cabal had us in better shape then we are now. We were literally better off with NO president than with this guy. If Trump were a ball player he'd be double digit negative WAR.

cucks just can't be honest call out trump for his BS. they go right for but sleepy joe, but kamala, but hunter, but hillary, but obama with everything. 🤣

I love this argument. It was Brain Dead Biden and the mess he made of our country at the border, on social issues and fiscally that got Trump re-elected.

I mean, it sure as hell wasn't Trump's charming personality.

Another $5B saved by the organization that was supposed to be "over" by now 😂😂😂

You're kidding right? Everyone who has looked into the details puts the actual number well under $50B. Additionally, they should be at $650B by now according to their own plans and now Musk has gone. They've only added $5B to their inflated number over the last three weeks. It's over dude. Take the L and move on.

You have literally done not a single thing in this forum but say "But Trump" for the last 4 years. The hypocrisy of you people is comical.

"It's over"....except that they are still cancelling contracts and optimizing processes on the daily. And the savings number continues to grow whether you agree with it or not.

So it's not really over, is it?

Watching Trumpbots talk about the amount of money DOGE is saving the average tax payer, while at the same time cheering Trump's "big beautiful bill" which adds 4 trillion to the deficit will never stop being funny. When we all make fun of you for being uninformed retards who stand for absolutely nothing, this is the kind of thing we are referring to.

A few crumbs here and there but of course that happens in all administrations. The item that is over is the massive DOGE shock and awe performative chainsaw exercise. It was always going to find some nice things to chop and yell about but overall it was never going to come up with $2T in savings. Not even close.

Exactly. Watching Musk get all pissy about it on X was pure entertainment.

I've been openly critical of that bill in here, as have many Republicans. Unlike Democrats who fall in line and do what they're told despite grotesque spending, at the very least least we are brave enough to speak out about it.

So what? You don't think chipping away at this stuff and maybe saving half a trillion over four years is still worth it? I get that you are all desperate to say I told you so, but no sensical person would not want some entity of our government decoupling us from wasteful contracts, antiquated processes and ridiculous regulations.

When the dems get back in office they can use it to go after all the Republican's pet projects. How is that a bad thing?

As I've said 30x in here, I'm happy for the valid savings and estimates of people who have looked into the details are in the $40B range. Not sure why that is so hard for you to accept. That doesn't make DOGE a success though.

I've never said that I believe the number or not, only that the exercise is well worth the effort and that it continues despite Musk leaving.

Even if it is 40$b then that's saving the ENTIRE federal taxes paid per person for $144k Americans.

Isn't there a children's forum you can go to somewhere to post this kind of nonsense?

But you can't tout the DOGE cuts, they are meaningless. Which is what we said all along.

The "meaning" is that there is a group actually trying to chip away our exceptionally bloated government spending in this administration that would not have even of existed in a Kamala administration.

OK, let's try this again. If you save $10 on your grocery bill, then spend 400k on a ferrari are you really saving anything?

Yes it was Trump's charming personality. He couldn't have made it any clearer the mess he was going cause but 'Murica f'ing LOVES the guy. There is no more room for whatabouttheotherism, the guy's dominated US politics for a decade because half the country ADORES him.

Not only that, but $7/10 you saved was cutting back on vegetables and healthy stuff.
