A libertarian who complains daily about the first real effort to cut the government in 30 years.  😂😂

You, my friend, are simply a Democrat.

And I think you meant left OF center.

I don’t claim to be a libertarian either, that’s just where I currently fall on most political compass tests. I still agree with more of their platform than I do the Dems and Reps, but the party itself is a sheet show, as are the duopoly.

I’m all for cutting costs, but I see no evidence whatsoever that "this is the first real effort to cut government in 30 years.”

In 2004, a school district in York County, PA added intelligent design to their biology curriculum. They referenced a book called Of Pandas and People. A crazy right wing activist judge appointed by well known atheist GW Bush shut them down in the Dover Panda Trial.

How much soft power did we acquire when we gave George Soros's NGO responsible for getting commie DAs elected across the country tens of millions?

Which definitely happened because you read it on twitter.

Yeah that's going to be proven to be a lie.

I'm not doing this with you.  These injunctions are meant only as a means of lawfare to delay and distract from the abhorrent mismanagement of taxpayer money by our government.

Stop. This is 100% wrong.

You can't just autistically scree "lawfare" whenever the Trump admin is challenged in court.

Challenging the government in court is literally one of the great things about our Republic.

And Trump's track record in court is horrible. He was turned back numerous times in his first administration.

He's breaking the law with his actions. He's usurping congressional authority.

You want him to be king because he's your daddy.

He's only president. Not a king.

That's funny.

Some of us want to do an audit but to do it the right way.  I'd say the majority in here would welcome that.

Calling this an audit is generous, but also inaccurate.

Outside of areas that touch on national security, the budgets of government agencies are open to the public along with the salaries of all public employees and allocations of fundings to grants/etc.

Audits are an ongoing exercise in government every fiscal year, and independent audits are commonly performed by third parties. There are entire websites dedicated to helping the public mine for "govt waste."

This is not an audit, it's performative nonsense for morons who think we can cleave off significant spending by the government and "save" enough money to balance the budget, and do so with no long term negative effects.

Their approach is reckless and capricious, and notably skipping over areas where Musk's companies most benefit from government pork.

There was a time when conflicts of interest were a big deal.

Now Trump is running on crony capitalism, with government fraudits as bread and circuses for his simpleton base.

But I was told extreme right wing media has nothing to do with how we got here.

The President’s job is to enforce laws.  That’s part of why the Articles of Confederation was scrapped.  Because under the Articles there was anarchy (see Shay’s Rebellion).  When you have a President who spends his time moaning about the Constitution instead of enforcing it then you have a Constitutional crisis.  That’s 100% the correct term for the media to use in this instance.

The instance I always come back to is Eisenhower sending the 101st Airborne to Little Rock HS.  He told the American public he didn’t agree with the Court’s decision.  But he also said it’s my job to enforce the law.  That was a President, who unlike Trump, actually understood what the job was.

Thanks.  I don’t think some of our friends understand the implications of ignoring Court decisions.  I will concede that Obama and Dems said they would not enforce DOMA though.

They aren't doing this to balance the budget. The ridiculous tax policies Trump enacted the last time are going to expire next year. So they won't be able to write off private jets and yachts unless they can extend them and figure out a way to pay for them. So they make up a bunch of fake spending like condoms for trannies in the Congo, to dupe the working class Trumptards into going along with it. Meanwhile they are going to cut legitimate government expenditures so they can keep getting tax breaks for private jets and yachts.

Trump isn't smart enough to think of this himself. This is right out of project 2025.

Funny how none of this waste... Condoms for trannies in Djibouti, millions for Chelsea Clinton's new braces, gender affirming care for squirrels in Transylvania, etc. is backed up with evidence that can be independently verified. It's all just stuff on Twitter and Brietbart. If massive fraud were going on, they would be parading it in front of congress and independent news organizations. Spoiler alert: they aren't and never will.
