This is quite hilarious.  There are 262 million adults in the US.  So, in order to send each adult a $5,000 check from "DOGE savings", then DOGE would need to have reduced government spending by $1.3 TRILLION.   And considering that as of now, they're at about $6 billion, well they have a ways to go.

Not to mention that doing this would completely negate the entire effing idea of reducing government spending.

I swear, the stupidity, it burns.....

If one reads the article, the checks would go to tax paying citizens, not every citizen.

Word is that the defense budget may increase $100b.  However, the probationary employee purge will hit any day.

Interesting times...

Yeah, I'm not sure what the motivation is there to be honest. Seems counter intuitive.

It's a moot point. They are not going to find 2T in savings.

The hits just keep on coming 🤣

🚨BREAKING: USPS postmaster to step down after report of $9.5 billion in net losses for 2024

USPS officials said 80% of the agency’s losses came from fixed costs — including pension contributions for its retirees and workers’ compensation claims for employees injured on the job.

USPS has seen a 80% DECREASE in volume of mail but still ADDED 190,000 employees…

It's the classic using a chainsaw when a scalpel should be.

Welcome to last week breaking news boy. It’s gonna be grand when rural MAGA can’t get their mail. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ironic thing is this is all probably going to cost A LOT more to eventually fix.

In all seriousness, sorry to hear that.

It's all good.

There's an asteroid coming in 2032 and I already cordoned off a spot to beat the crowd.

The bloat is not in the new blood being brought in.

Oh wait, you think they are only cutting bloat?

There has been absolutely zero analysis done for any of these cuts/firings. It's a mess.

I am speaking more specifically DoD.

I attempted to acknowledge bloat in the DoD budget and Paul's post simultaneously.

The only DOD cuts will be to generals, and anyone else who won’t kiss commander bone spurs ring. Can’t be King if the military isn’t on board.

Doge is looking at probationary period civilians as of COB Tuesday.  The overall mood is bleak.

Yeah, taxpayers who want their effing returns, and anyone else with half a brain cell are against firing IRS during tax season.

We are also against not hiring and training federal fighters right before fire season, or firing the people who are working on bird flu, or the people watching our nukes……

Now change the subject secretariat!

Nearly half the country is on the side of trillions of dollars in fraud and waste.

Nearly half the country isn't dumb enough to think this bumbling idiot is capable of finding fraud.

They're executing a bunch of performative BS for fools like you while they crank up the crony capitalism for their club members.

Idiot.

The last time republicans were this incompetent, we got the New Deal. Only this time it’s going to be made by someone to the left of FDR.

Bravo, guys. Well done. Thanks for setting actual conservatism back a few decades.
