I'm more interested in what comes after all of this

Over a two-day period, 239 "wasteful" contracts with a "ceiling value" of $1.7 billion have been terminated, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) said Thursday, including a grant intended to teach transgender and queer urban farmers about "food justice."

Time for another lesson in government contracting.  Ceiling value is a maximum amount of money that can be placed on a contract over the life of the contract.  It is a function of the estimated lifetime value of the contract and the contracting authority of the contracting office managing the contract.

The ceiling value is not an accurate representation of the actual amount of dollars that would be placed on a given contract.

It should represent the budget for the contract though, shouldn't it?  Unless they budget for a % of the ceiling value and hope that it stays below that.

The budget is below the ceiling by design.  It is a hard cap for budget pverruns.

That’s a mighty fine comb question about how the US Federal Government SHOULD operate considering how president musk is chainsawing it.

Yeah, which is why there isn't a PBS kids cartoon for judges trying to be more than one.

Don’t know of a single judge trying to be more than a judge.  Maybe get educated on our system of government and not by watching Fox News.

I don't even think Fox is pushing that crap.  Probably OAN or something even more radical.

Head in the sand, delusional, TDS, etc.  Got it. Judges do not get to tell POTUS who can have security clearances or people that are fired have to be rehired. It's a BS obstructionist tactic being used by rogue judges to try to screw things up.

You've never passed a government or US history class have you?

I’m interested to know what you think will happen?

I'm undecided but optimistic at this point.

Every president running for office has talked illegal immigration, waste cutting, etc. to get elected or re elected and have basically done nothing. What I can't believe is that everyone doesn't have a problem with bloat and obvious wasted money that is taken from us.

Is it a ripple like "the teaparty", the occutard movement, or blm?

Again, I don't know but this has been coming in one form, shape, or another. Neither political party is entirely enamored with it and I consider that a positive. In my view it's being addressed. It hasn't been two months, we'll see how it shakes out.

Have you checked the urban dictionary? I think you've been lied to.

You did a lot of typing for misunderstanding my main concern. I'm concerned with the contracts that should never have been issued in the first place.
