I'll going to go with you meaning the best way as opposed to always. Im not arguing with you over the merits of de-escalation ultimately it's very beneficial.

Not a useful concept with Japan in WWII. For lack of a better euphemism the leftist commitment to their goals is on par.

I'll argue that while their goals are extreme in their alignment with left of center politics they don't align with the average left of center democrats nor republicans.

The party and liberal intellecgencia on the otherhand is embracing their money and influence. I'll point to Trump's second term and Kimmels unforced error in judgement.

There is no really ideological separation between ABC itself and Kimmel. He publically and unapologetically leaned into the same leftist that cheered Kirk's death and are looking for more. No one did that but Kimmel.

ABC doesn't forget the Budlight campaign. The left may have created "cancel culture" but the right is just as good at it.

The issue isn’t that ABC suspended Kimmel. The issue is that Trump and the FCC essentially dictated the action. Even Ted Cruz weighed in to explain how dangerous that sort of approach is to all sides.

"I want to know why you support a president who contributes to the rhetoric that got your friend Charlie killed,” a student asked Kelly during the debate. "You saw his rally recently, he said, ‘I hate my enemies.’ Stephen Miller said similar things. How can you support him when he contributed to what got Charlie killed?”

After Kelly replied, "What you said is not true,” the student screamed, "70% of political violence is committed by Republicans! Look it up! DOJ just pulled it! The DOJ just pulled it from their website!”

"First of all, let me take on the first premise of your question, that it was President Trump’s rhetoric that led to an assassin killing our friend Charlie Kirk. That’s a blatant lie,” said Kelly, before calling the suggestion "defamatory” and "inappropriate in this setting.”

Student: That’s not what I said.

Kelly: Yes it is.

Student: No, I said he contributed to the political atmosphere, the tension.

Kelly: Well, then you have no point. Then your point is utterly empty. Contributing to the atmosphere? No, let’s just make clear. Let’s just make clear. This guy was motivated by leftist ideology. We know it from the bullet casings, we know it from the Utah governor, we know it from his own mother. Yes, we do! Let’s be really clear on that.

Student: Let’s say this guy’s a leftist, even if that’s true, does that make it okay for the sitting president of the United States to incite violence against liberals?

Kelly: The president of the United States has not incited violence against liberals. The president of the United States made a joke at the Charlie Kirk memorial which was funny and self-deprecating. It was on the heels of Erika Kirk saying she, in an extraordinary moment, forgave her husband’s killer. Let me finish. And then President Trump got up and, making a joke, playing off what Erika said, he said, "We disagree. I need to do better, Erika’s going to try to convince me, but I’m in a different place,” and that’s completely normal for a politician to be thinking about his political fights. And by the way, Trump has every right to loathe his enemies. They tried to put him in jail for the rest of his life.

Did they dictate his return to? You don't get to have it both ways.

Uhhh, Trump has threatened to take legal action against ABC now given that they brought Kimmel back. Did you not see the Trump Truth post that I put up in here?

But they did bring him back. Are you suggesting they suddenly grew a spine? No, they made a business decision and their "talent" threw a tantrum and forced them to keep a money loser on the air.

No. The loss of massive amounts of money dictated his return.

Yes, market forces dictated both events. And yes, Trumps statements and tweets are not helpful (except to Democrats).
