I guess the dad wasn't a minister but contacted one to convince the kid to turn himself in. Still nothing to indicate any sort of overt activism or political leanings. Dad was a cop from Utah who liked guns and taught his kids to use them at young ages. As a parent, you gotta have a sense of whether they're mature and stable enough to have that responsibility. Hopefully he didn't miss any warning signs with his kid on this.

Watching the press conference on CNN, but couldn’t find this clip on CNNs Twitter, which is why this is from Fox News. About 1 minute in, they talk about a recent discussion family had with the suspect about Kirk.
