The shooter spent the vast majority of his free time online between gaming and chat groups according to reports. Law enforcement will scour through his likely vast online posting history from the past 2-3 years and a likely motive will become more clear.

He was a 4.0 student through high school, left the post secondary institution he received some sort of scholarship to, and enrolled in a trade school to become an electrician — nothing wrong with that. At some point during this time he seemed to withdraw socially and would have been "indoctrinated” into the echo chamber of whatever online community he ended up in — whether that was far far right or more left is unknown as of now.

Either way, he became less influenced by his family and more influenced by the online groups, in all likelihood.

The fact that the call was coming from inside the house should give the right cause to self-examine their conduct and the conduct of politics and the media in general in today's day and age, but unfortunately they wont.

There's a massive amount of short form information being fed to people who were not property taught critical thinking, and that information is absolutely being created, disseminated, and/or funded by hostile foreign powers, and done so with the tacit approval of the companies that own these social media platforms.

Any time there's a change in the consumption of media, it has downstream effects. From WWII to the early 2000s the consumption was largely the 6 o'clock news and newspapers, which were all carefully crafted by professional journalists and put together by professional editors, led by professional publicists, so we had decades of effective media communication to the masses. But then you go back a few decades before that when newspapers were getting started right and left and before you know it we're at war with Spain because of a coal boiler explosion. Go back a few centuries before that, and you can see how the invention and proliferation of the printing press led to the Thirty Years War.

It's 12 minutes long so I watched like 30 seconds of it, but in all seriousness, people grieve in different ways. The way he died is incredibly tragic and atypical, so I wouldn't be surprised if she's going through a lot and with all attention and news coverage, finding it difficult to process her emotions in a conventional way.
