Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

I don't think people fully appreciate the situation with the Raiders on Sunday. There is no football game to be played. The Raiders do not want to win the game. Can you control the players? Do some of the players and coaches have pride and want to perform? Sure, kind of. Most of them have quit and are trying to avoid injury and find jobs next year by now. And if there is somehow a close game, the coach is getting a call from the owner's box like Doug did in 2020.

It is an unloseable game.

Raiders are 2-11 and 11.5 underdogs.

Cardinals were 3-12 and 11.5 underdogs when they beat the Eagles in 2023.

2025 Eagles: Challenge accepted!

The 2023 Eagles were up on the lowly Giants about 20-3, then damn near lost the game. That was the only game they won in the last six regular season games and got drubbed in the wildcard round.

IIRC, that was the game Sirianni was losing it on people over on the sidelines and DeVonta Smith had to try to inject some sanity. Even with the "victory” people could see things had officially unraveled.

A similar calamity this Sunday would be a sure sign it’s time to fold up the chairs.

We can open up the offseason blog early.

Here's one I had no idea about. Harriette was replaced at the end of Family Matters?

Must have been the very end because I don’t remember that either

The Eagles got a hold on first down on their last drive in that Cardinals game. 1st and 20

Siri put on his leather and ball gag, collar and leash, and got on all fours next to Gannon on the next 3 run plays to settle for a FG.

Yes, Siri absolutely could lose this game.

So it's only collusion when resetting the market results in smaller contracts?

I don't really know what would constitute collusion. I imagine there would have to be proof that the owners agreed to work together to set salary rather than competing in a free market. Or something like that.

The NFL has been really lax on players illegally moving forward in motion. You see it all the time now and the Eagles got away with a really obvious one last week

It was. She was only replaced for a handful of episodes before the show ended.

Amazing table to come up with, thank you.

Have to cast a side eye at Howie on that. Not necessarily for the personnel he put in place. But to have the 2nd most expensive offense in the NFL be a bottom rung unit...that's a lot of bad contracts. We can talk coaching, QB, OL, etc...but the amount of cap the Eagles are spending per point per game on offense has to absolutely DWARF the rest of the league.

The offense just won the Super Bowl last season it is mostly the same offense that went to the Super Bowl three years ago. You are going to cast a side eye on Howie for the winningest offensive core in Eagles history?

What's the alternative?

And that's the problem which was my point straight after re lack of depth this year.

Not sure if Pryor or Kendall would perform that - might give you a little more in the run game but be worse for pass blockers.

Maybe this whole season is going all according to design by Lurie to culiminate Eagles fans doing this to the Linc after the Eagles lose at home in week 17 to Marcus Mariota, or probably more fitting Josh Johnson, to lose the division and miss the playoffs. That way Lurie is able to collect the insurance money on the Linc and build Jeffrey's World an inside football stadium with no soul in it like an outdoor stadium.

Good Sports with Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson did a spot of the positivity rabbit. It's pretty funny.

I believe that is the definition, but they don't have to conspire. If one owner just does it, and others choose to follow (which is what happens when a position market is reset for a higher floor) it shouldn't be collusion

Bucs might have the best WR core in the league, they just are always hurt

I once thought losing on a Tuesday was impossible as an Eagles fan

Al Michaels having an all time grand pa moment.

First asks if an obvious forward pass is a fumble. Second complaining an obvious grounding penalty was a late flag when all the refs usually gather to talk about it. Third saying Allgeier and something about Algeria.

That called catch and fumble makes no sense considering what they called against Likely

It’s about time for Old Al to hang’em up

Tampa got hosed with that fumble call and again with that TD

This in itself isn't the biggest issue. Some of it is by design - Eagles under Siri have always been for shortening games. Although I would prefer a bit more variety so D's cant just tee off at snap.

But what has been a contributing factor to this and is clear when you watch the games is that the process has been off. They are routinely late getting to the line which limits how much time Hurts has on the line.
