Welp. We're now a fanbase that is making the same arguments Giants fans used to defend Eli Manning. Mind you, regular season Hurts is absolutely better than regular season Eli, but the arguments are the same.

Eli had his moments for them. I'll take another SB please.

Yup...thank you so much Eeyore for your deep and insightful generalization. I do not share your pessimistic view of the world. I like celebrating Super Bowl wins as they do not come with any asterisks. There has never been a greater time to be an Eagles fan...but...you do you!

He's literally not the OC. If the idea is to not give him any credit for other years in which others are OC, stop assuming that every time the offense is doing poorly, it's because of him and his (perceived by you) lack of skills, then acting like it's all him when it's not working is stupid. Secondly, no. For many of the last 25 years, the single most important decision a HC makes has been considered to be who is picked for QB. Sirianni did not get to pick his QB and is doing the best he can with Jalen, by delegating to others who fit him better.

You can deny this if it makes you feel better, but if every QB should stick with QBs they have because they can look good in certain circumstances, then make sure to say that Andy Reid is a terrible coach because he drafted Mahomes to move away from Alex Smith.

Andy won games with Alex smith. He won games with mcnabb, he won games with Vick, he won game with mahomes. He won games with backup qbs. Not a good example to prove your point.

The point is Siri is the HC, who is supposed to be an offensive guy. He’s clearly not. He can’t fix the offense or it would’ve been fixed a long time ago. He’s a guy who landed a job with a team that has an incredible GM. Like I’ve told you a million times. When he is gone he will disappear like Doug P

The last four years have most definitely been the best run over the last 60 years and maybe in franchise history. The AR run was great as well but only one visit to the SB and no rings. Buddy didn't win a single playoff game. Dick's run was shorter and not as dominant. Doug only had one deep run. Maybe the late 40s were better.

Let's see where this year ends up. Certainly we could be one and done but there is a real shot for more.

I found this fascinating. We have been on a really good run lately.

Lately? Try since 2000.....posted this before but we are like 3rd in Win %, 2nd in playoff appearances, 2nd in playoff wins, been to 4 Super Bowls, won 2. Yes...I'd love a couple more Super Bowl victories....yes, we have missed/blown some chances. But man....they way some people act on here, you'd think we were the Jets, Browns, etc.....

Looking at individual accomplishments, I think Coop, Quinyon, and Baun belong in the pro-bowl this year. Jordan Davis is in the conversation, but not sure he makes it. No one else is really in the convo.

Pro bowl is a popularity contest. Cooper may be noticed now because of his pick 6 in the SB and that he's one of the few white DBs lol but I doubt a lot really know of Mitchell. His name doesn't get called a lot in games

Mitchell's stellar performance doesn't lead to votes. People just forget he's there, he's that good. So normie NFL fans won't vote for him.

You'd hope the media right that wrong.

Playing devils advocate but how much of that is because of the mess at CB2?

The rate metrics are on passes that actually go his way, so those aren't materially impacted by what's on the other side of the field. And even if you think QBs are shying away from him, 3rd in Forced Incompletions would be even more impressive.

For a 2nd year player, he's absolutely brilliant. But I can guarantee a Cards or Texans fan would go. Who? Dejean has had the pop (the tackle on Henry last season) and got a profile in the media. Mitchell shutting down WRs isn't sexy football.

The players ranked DeJean #60 and Mitchell #49 in the NFL's top 100. They get it.

Question--If the Eagles win 3 of 4 over 9 years, are they a dynasty?

What about 3 of 4 over 10 assuming they miss this year?

How about 3 of 5 or 3 of 4 over 10? Assumes they go to 1 or 2x more (I can dream) and lose one and win one.

Clearly 2 of 3 over 8 doesn't get them there. Nor does just going 1 to 2x more and losing it/them over 10 years. Have to get that 3rd or 4th W (again, I can dream).

I think if they get one more within 10 years, that's a dynasty. Prefer 3 of 4 over 9 though as it is a bit closer to the historically great teams that did it in shorter windows, i.e., 4 to 7 years.

I think to be considered a dynasty at some point one would have to win 2 in a row,Unless they went every other year and won 5.

Plus the first was in a different decade so...

I hope the Eagles give Carter and Lane another week off, and if you win Saturday, then rest em til the playoffs.

All Pro is an exponentially a better award/honor than a Pro Bowl selection, especially when it comes to career awards and HOF consideration.

Seems excessive. Lane wouldn't have played for two months. Carter 6 weeks. That's a lot of time off for Linemen to just jump right back in.

Kenny Gainwell having a pretty good season

For me more so Lane than Carter. If that lis franc isn't totally healed and he reaggravates it, season over for Lane. And I think he'd be more able to just jump right in and be fine, he's a grizzled vet. I think Carter may need some reps before the playoffs, problem is we just don't know what's wrong with those shoulders.

I'm kind of 'out of it' this morning; I was asking myself "who is Dick?"

I might need to start drinking coffee.

Scrooged and Christmas Vacation are two must-watches for me each Christmas season. Those three around Bill Murray in this scene were all veteran character actors and all just about broke at that Richard Burton impersonation. It wasn't half-bad even as a serious attempt. Burton and I have the same birthday and I'm a fan of his as well. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf is another excellent film adapted from a play; both he and Elizabeth Taylor were excellent.

Gainwell is a solid player who just does his job when called upon. Vastly underrated here because he wasn't a flashy player.
