Vastly underrated here because he wasn't a flashy player.Obviously Shipley and Tank both offer a different level of burst and a nice upside. However, they’ve yet to really be called on to make a big blitz pickup or a key 1st down on a pass in the flat where they need to beat a defender and grind out the three or four yards needed to keep a 4th playoff drive going. Kenny always did what was necessary in those clutch situations.
Tuesday at 04:24 PM1 day Well, Jerruh, maybe you shouldn't have traded your best player, who rushes the QB, right before the season? The guy who caused a larger swing in EPA/play for defense than any other player when he is on the field?
Tuesday at 04:30 PM1 day So on the whole rest thing, here's how I look at it. This week, we need to win, so everyone healthy plays (including Lane and JC if they are ready). Next week, if we have the division wrapped up, I'd play the starters but sit anyone who is at all nicked up -- maybe play Toth at center, Pryor at LG, etc. Week 18, I count on Tanner and the backups to beat a Commanders team that should be mailing it in.The 2 seed is important since Nick/Jalen haven't lost a home playoff game. But I still don't think you risk anyone week 18, as this team needs a bye after playing into February last year and playing 8 straight since the bye before week 18.

Tuesday at 04:39 PM1 day One other thought -- the rest debate, at least for me, comes down to who wins Saturday night between GB and CHI and has the inside track for the 2 seed. I have no fear of going into Chicago in the divisional round -- hell, if it is GB at Chicago in the 7/2 game, I think GB would win that. I'm not afraid of playing a 1st time playoff QB. If GB wins, and gets to 10-4-1, then I keep going for the 2 seed to avoid going to Lambeau. GB plays Baltimore on Saturday in week 17, so if they beat the Bears and lose to the Ravens, they are 10-5-1 and we can pass them (so can the Bears, but they are at SF). So we'll know where we stand BEFORE kickoff in Buffalo, which is nice.

Guys like Dickerson, Jurgens, Carter & Johnson no way in hell play vs Buffalo. With that line of thinking and that many guys out anyway, you mind as well extend this rest to other guys who have played massive snap counts this year and for the last 3 years and reduce their counts for that game. Need to have a healthy roster to have a chance to win this marathon. That's the one edge they may have here as other teams empty the tank and have major injuries.Week 18 is a bye week like last year vs. Giants and you give backups important reps that you may need later. It's about the long game here. They have stubbornly played guys who have been banged up all year as well. This is their chance to get guys right and refreshed. Hurts already rolled his ankle. Gotta be wary of season enders, here as there is no longer time for a multiple week recovery period for an injured player.

Try since 2000.....posted this before but we are like 3rd in Win %, 2nd in playoff appearances, 2nd in playoff wins, been to 4 Super Bowls, won 2. Yes...I'd love a couple more Super Bowl victories....yes, we have missed/blown some chances. But man....they way some people act on here, you'd think we were the Jets, Browns, etc.....I think the problem is that most people here remember when we were the Browns and/or Jets. All those years of self-hatred don't just go away, even with the sustained winning. There is always the fear of the other shoe dropping.

That's a lot of time off for Linemen to just jump right back in.They could still practice and I would be confident in Lane's ability to jump in to start. I think Carter's condition will improve with extended rehabilitation. Carter was terrible in his last few games because of his shoulders. If he's healthier and more functional with further rehab, it's not like he needs snaps to learn the position.

Jordan Davis is in the conversation, but not sure he makes it. No one else is really in the convo.Coop should be 1st team AP, he’s probably the best DB in the league this year…Q probably should too. Davis has a case, but him and Baun are probably 2nd team.

Again, who would've criticized that move? Maybe two people in here vs a large majority of the fanbase and national media.

The beginning of the year started out a little rocky, but a couple of events over the past several weeks has helped stabilized the position, First it was Fangio's decision to always line up Quinyon on the narrower side of the field with the hash marks, which meant that throwing to Adoree's side of the wider field forced the QB to make longer throws giving more time for him to adjust and catch up to the separation. Second the emergence of a consistent pass rush has sped up the QB in decision making and not being able to sit and hit deep and intermediate throws. I remember watching Goff and Love both give up looking downfield, instead looking for safety valves and passes to the flat. In my eyes the CB2 position has not been as glaring area of a weakness as it was. CB2 has really benefitted from the support given to him.

In both of the past two seasons, the narrative was "Sirianni needs to stay out of everything and not get involved" and everything bad that happened was "Sirianni got involved". So him limiting his involvement now is "He should have gotten involved sooner!!!?"At this point Sirianni is just a frustration outlet in which people's logic shifts to make him look like the problem even if it's completely different ways between seasons.First things first, a good majority of people in here have said nothing can be worse than patullo. So sirianni injecting himself into this offense could not have been worse.Second, the point of my post was that people are skeptical it was sirianni because why would you wait this long? If you saw something failing at your job would you just sit there and let it fail for weeks? There was zero adjustment or progression from the offense since week 1, getting called out by national media and broadcasters DURING THE GAMES.

Mind you, regular season Hurts is absolutely better than regular season Eli, but the arguments are the same.Eli hardly ever made the playoffs. 2/3’s of the times he did he was trash. Hurts has yet to miss the playoffs and has only been trash 1/2 the times. If Hurts ends his Eagles career with a .500 record everyone on this board will have died from a heart attack over the course of a few 1-16 seasons.
