Coop should be 1st team AP, he’s probably the best DB in the league this year…Q probably should too. Davis has a case, but him and Baun are probably 2nd team.

Hawks Murphy and Titans Simmons likely get first team All Pro

Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

I found this fascinating. We have been on a really good run lately.

The funny thing is that the Ravens and Steelers fans have no solace in this fact lol.

For a 2nd year player, he's absolutely brilliant. But I can guarantee a Cards or Texans fan would go. Who? Dejean has had the pop (the tackle on Henry last season) and got a profile in the media. Mitchell shutting down WRs isn't sexy football.

Texans fans are too focused on Stingley.

The players ranked DeJean #60 and Mitchell #49 in the NFL's top 100. They get it.

The way Coop is playing he might be #3 next year behind Garrett and Njigba…with Q not far behind.

The Steelers epitomise a one and done playoff franchise. Better than average, but nothing exciting.

The Dallas Cowboys think they are the Eagles in their heads, but are the barely the Steelers on their worst day franchise.

Well, Jerruh, maybe you shouldn't have traded your best player, who rushes the QB, right before the season? The guy who caused a larger swing in EPA/play for defense than any other player when he is on the field?

And then turn around and trade half your haul for a guy that’s going to give you another contract hold out in the off season too.

If I am honest with myself, I enjoy watching the Cowboys lose in front of a national audience more than an Eagles win.

What mess are you referring to? The beginning of the year started out a little rocky, but a couple of events over the past several weeks has helped stabilized the position, First it was Fangio's decision to always line up Quinyon on the narrower side of the field with the hash marks, which meant that throwing to Adoree's side of the wider field forced the QB to make longer throws giving more time for him to adjust and catch up to the separation. Second the emergence of a consistent pass rush has sped up the QB in decision making and not being able to sit and hit deep and intermediate throws. I remember watching Goff and Love both give up looking downfield, instead looking for safety valves and passes to the flat. In my eyes the CB2 position has not been as glaring area of a weakness as it was. CB2 has really benefitted from the support given to him.

For the most part outside of the 2nd Dallas game, we were complaining about CB2 while giving up relatively little in the passing game all year. Considering how many snaps the D has been on the field for too…it’s actually impressive that Adoree missing tackles was one of our biggest complaints.

And Rodgers had 188 so Hurts is 5th at best.

Fashion Fool was at 160 so he is behind Hurts.

1 TD behind Hurts as it currently stands. During the first 5 years, Hurts has 49.2% of the teams rushing TD's, Newton had 47.78% of the teams rushing TD's.

For comparison to the absurd rushing TD%, Lamar Jackson only had 23.3% of his teams rushing TD's his first 5 years. To match Hurts he would have only needed 40% of the teams rushing TD's.

For Joe Burrow to match Hurts total TD's his first 5 years, he would only have needed to have 31.82% of his teams rushing TD's.

Herbert would have needed 32.8% of his teams rushing TD's to match Hurts.

Edited to add, Josh Allen had 46.84% of his teams rushing TD's over the same span, and had 175 total TD's to Hurts current 161 TD's. He would have only needed 29% of his teams rushing TD's to match Jalen's 161.

AP usually gets things right. We will see what happens. Either way, Q and DeJawn are some of the best young DB’s in the league right now.

Well I guess we know who came up with that play. Goedert owes this guy an expensive dinner and some jet skis

To add on to this, I love when those losses are at home. Two years ago all the talk was about their unbeaten home streak, and to see them get slaughtered at home to a 7th seed was just the best thing.

Agreed on Cooper and Mitchell. Still amazing we were able to draft them in the same year

Wow I didn’t know the condition for the 2027 1st, that’s horrible for them

Cowboys need to give that numbskull wide receiver 4 years & $160M. Jones will probably wear him down with a franchise tag and tough negotiations that he will perform like a malcontent going forward. You can trust that whatever move he makes it will be the wrong one. In reality, Cowboys are trapped with Prescott all these years and have been spinning their wheels. And this defense with or without Quinnen Williams is atrocious, which is exactly why when I looked at their schedule 2 weeks ago I thought they had a better chance of losing out than winning out. They have possibly one win left on their schedule now. This was always in the bag for the Birds.

Truly interesting scenario in the NFC North...

CHI: Beat GB, Lose SF, Lose Det

GB: Lose Chi, Beat Bal, Beat Min

Det: Beat Pit, Beat Min, Beat Chi

....Bears miss the playoffs.

The Bears could lose to GB and SF, but beat Det and still make the playoffs.

So on the whole rest thing, here's how I look at it. This week, we need to win, so everyone healthy plays (including Lane and JC if they are ready). Next week, if we have the division wrapped up, I'd play the starters but sit anyone who is at all nicked up -- maybe play Toth at center, Pryor at LG, etc. Week 18, I count on Tanner and the backups to beat a Commanders team that should be mailing it in.

The 2 seed is important since Nick/Jalen haven't lost a home playoff game. But I still don't think you risk anyone week 18, as this team needs a bye after playing into February last year and playing 8 straight since the bye before week 18.

My thought is to hold JC and Lane out this week. We simply don't need them. If we win then next week is more of a mixed bag and I'd be happy with AJ, Saquon, Hurts, and a few others on a pitch count and gone before halftime. i'd go with the Toth, Pryor line just you lay out to completely rest the guys that are banged up. The final week is all backups.

Basically, there are 4 chairs for 5 teams -- one of CHI, GB, DET, SF or SEA is going to miss the playoffs. Seattle has 11 wins, but they have the Rams/Panthers/49ers left, so 11-6 is possible. Most likely DET is the one that misses, but the food fight will be something.

Here's best case how it goes:

Seahawks finish 12-5. Lose to Rams and 49ers, beat Panthers

GB finishes 11-5-1. Beat Chicago and Minny, lose to Baltimore.

SF finishes 12-5. Win vs. Colts and Seahawks, lose to Bears.

Chicago finishes 11-6. Beat 49ers, lose to Packers and Lions.

Detroit finishes 10-7. Lose to Steelers, beat Vikings and Bears.

They could still practice and I would be confident in Lane's ability to jump in to start. I think Carter's condition will improve with extended rehabilitation. Carter was terrible in his last few games because of his shoulders. If he's healthier and more functional with further rehab, it's not like he needs snaps to learn the position.

It’s not about learning the position, it’s the getting hit, playing time, conditioning etc. Obviously if they are still rehabbing they shouldn’t be playing. But if they are fully cleared I wouldn’t completely sit them the last two games.

At this point in the season they aren’t even really practicing. It’s basically two walkthroughs and one short practice each week.

Oh hey look, wonder if anyone's going to take back their statements about Sirianni getting involved and things instantly getting worse schematically. Even though they got better last week too.

Nah, pretty sure that'll only happen if the Eagles repeat, which is a hilariously stupid bar considering the OL is a mess, Jalen's scheme fit is pretty poor, and most importantly, repeating is insanely difficult (especially injury wise) so it should never be an expectation for being shown to be wrong on something.

🤔. Jalen's scheme fit is pretty poor... Sirianni and Hurts have been together for nearly a full 5 seasons now... when should we expect the scheme and the QB to align?

The Commanders are better than the Raiders but not by much. Both teams are looking at draft position right now. There is no excuse. Get this Division wrapped up Saturday period.

This team CANNOT lose to a team starting Marcus Mariota at QB. If they do, then this is 2023 and a repeat of losing to the Seahawks with Drew Lock at QB.

That said, they can't look past them with the Bills looming. They need to focus on getting the job done, winning the division on yet another short week of preparation.

Lately? Try since 2000.....posted this before but we are like 3rd in Win %, 2nd in playoff appearances, 2nd in playoff wins, been to 4 Super Bowls, won 2. Yes...I'd love a couple more Super Bowl victories....yes, we have missed/blown some chances. But man....they way some people act on here, you'd think we were the Jets, Browns, etc.....

Some of us are old enough to remember when we were the Jets, Browns, etc. sad. Granted, that was a long time ago, but some things take a long time to heal from. Granted, many that are acting the way you suggest are NOT the ones old enough to remember Joe Kuharich, etc. But, I remember the Norman Braman ownership days. angry
