I mean, it's not that complicated. Cowboys = ratings. So of course ESPN, FS1, etc. are going to hype them up. Both those networks abandoned any illusion of actual football analysis years ago. It's hot takes and hyping up certain teams (Cowboys, Chiefs, Yankees, Lakers, etc.) to drive ratings. That's why you see people like Mike Greenberg, Stephen A Smith, Colin Cowherd, etc. as the faces of the networks -- they know nothing about sports.

They troll Eagles' fans because that spurs engagement on social media. It's the only reason Nick Wright has a job -- his disastrous call on the 2017 Eagles having no chance is how he got national attention.

I honestly wouldn't bring Lane back until the playoffs. Carter I'd play against Buffalo if he can go, but if they win Saturday, they're in and pretty much locked into the 3 seed, so there's a chance Carter may sit until the playoffs too.

edit. I think we can only get the 2 seed if the Bears and GB both lose 2 more games, and we win out. I can see the bears definitely dropping 2, possibly all 3 of their remaining games. Not sure about GB dropping 2 though. Maybe they could just lose 1 and we'd have a 1/2 game lead due to their tie?

Let's not try to pretend the offense has been anything other than a major disappointment compared to the investments made. You can put lipstick on this pig if you want... but its still a pig.

No, the offense definitely has had its issues. But it’s also far from among the worst offenses in the league.

And the season isn’t over yet - there’s a decent chance if they get it turned around, the offense will pop.

I think they need to play everyone until they clinch. Nothing is a given and the more games that go by without clinching the worst it will be in terms of resting people for the playoffs.

Everyone goes - they win - then rest people. Pretty simple, really.

Yes, the Raiders stink and toward the end of the season you can argue they've given up. But then you look at the games against the Chargers and Broncos before playing us. We'll see what they do against the Texans, Giants and Chiefs to close out the season. If they put up a fight, that would prove they weren't just rolling over against us to tank.

I don't put much stock in the Chargers/Broncos games.

1. They are division games for them. Division games can be weird. We should know, we lost two of them to bad teams.

2. They were both in domes and generally close in location. Not flying West coast to East coast and playing in sub 30 degree weather. It shouldn't be surprising the offense was slightly better.

3. Raiders were down 7 to 21 in both games going into the 4th quarter. Against the Chargers they had 68 yards of the offense in garbage time. So basically 40% of their yards happened at the end of the game. Against the Broncos, 109 yards of their offense happened in garbage time, so 48% of their yards happened at the end of the game.

Eagles don't pick whose on the schedule or when they play them. But they did what they should have done, dominate. That's really all that matters at the moment. Whether it was a turning point or just taking care of business against a bad team, we'll find out soon enough.

Not the same thing, because the Eagles beat playoff teams previously. Coming off a SB win, tougher schedule, beat good teams then had 3 losses. The Cowboys aren't as good, yet people hyped them.

This is the first season I've ever watched HBO Hard Knocks. Do they always premiere late in the season like that? Are they going to go back and show the beginning of the season later? Right now they're showing each recent week. Why not just do that from week 1?

Yes. And just less than a week ago just about everyone in here wrote off the season. Talking about the draft and next year and when we get rid of Jalen Hurts etc. Bashing him into the ground off of one terrible game and a whole 3 game span of below par QB play. Was pretty pathetic to read. Kept emphasizing this season was far from over, especially with that defense. And he was resilient as they come and would be fine by playoffs. But anyway...
