Looking at the schedules, LA has the Falcons and Cardinals left, so hard to see them losing either of those games. They win tonight, they're basically a lock for the 1 seed, IMO. Seattle has 2 road games at Carolina and SF, so those could both be losses. If we want to dream about a remote chance at the 1 seed, you want Seattle to win. But we'd still need LA and Seattle to lose again, and have the Bears lose 2, and the Packers lose one. All while we win out.

More realistically, we have no path to the 1 seed, so I'd argue we want Seattle to win and somehow be the 1 seed while Chicago is the 2 and we are the 3. It's much more likely Darnold and Williams lose at home in the divisional round than Stafford or Love.

I agree the #1 seed isn't likely. It's less than 1% according to ESPN.

I'm pulling for Rams so they win the division. It's looking likely Eagles end up #3 seed in the end and will face someone from the NFC West in the first round. I'd rather face 49ers/Seahawks in the wild card round at home then 49ers/Rams. Also, down the line lets say the #1 seed wins it's divisional round and hosts the NFCCG. I wouldn't be afraid of the Seahawks but in Seattle opens up a hard scenario to predict. Eagles never play well in Seattle, it's loud, it could be a mess weather wise and they actually have a home crowd whose getting excited. Meanwhile if we have to go back to LA, it's going to be an Eagles crowd without weather.

And that has nothing to do with Sam Darnold. More to do with their defense.

If Eagles win, I think they rest Lane and Carter the rest of the season. If Eagles lose I think they start playing vs the Bills(unless Dallas loses vs LAC).

It's probably been posted already, but if the following happens weeks 16 and 17, we could clinch the #2 seed with a win at home week #18 without looking at the scoreboard.

We win @ Was and @ Buf.

GB wins @ Chi week #16.

GB loses to Bal week #17 and Chi loses @ SF week #17

The counterpoint is that Sam Darnold can't win in big moments, so let them somehow get the 1 seed and be this year's Detroit (lose in divisional round). If I had to craft the perfect scenario for the Eagles, it's this: 49ers as the 6 seed in the Wild Card round. Go to Chicago in the divisional round and win, while LA (5 seed) goes to Seattle and wins. Host LA for NFCCG.

EDIT: Obviously I'd rather not play LA, but I see that as inevitable at some point as they are a class above the other teams IMO.

Back injury Cam

I am guessing Siri's mindset is just win the game to win the division and it doesn't matter if it's a close game, conservative offense, just win. If the offense happens to go up big he may even rest some starters like last week but the win is key so that they can rest starters/injured guys the next couple weeks.

I just hope the guys that are missing time aren't rusty for the playoffs. It will be interesting to see how they handle it.

I'd rather play Seattle on the road than the Rams. Yes, the Eagles have struggled in Seattle, but it's largely circumstantial. During the very successful Russell Wilson and Legion of Boom era and then again during the collapse 2023 season where they couldn't even beat the Giants or Cardinals. I'd rather play the weaker team on the road, and Sam Darnold in January, in the cold, I do not remotely fear him. But even though the Eagles have owned the Rams, I think the Rams are one offense that in the playoffs could potentially get one over on the Eagles defense, especially indoors in a comfortable environment.

To me the main criteria that has proven pretty consistent over the years is always root to play the team with the worse QB in the playoffs and take your chances. Unless the better team's QB is only slightly worse. In this case I think Stafford is substantially better than Darnold.

Yea, that's fair for down the line thinking. Just in the short term though, even though it will probably be 49ers there is still the scenario it could be the loser of tonight's game, and I would take Seattle here every single time instead of having to play against the Rams.

I think people are really underrating the Bears. The Bears beating the Eagles was hardly a fluke. They have a power running game like the Eagles had last year and that can control the clock. They have legit weapons at every offensive skill postion and Ben Johnson as their HC. They are a tough win especially in Chicago with 15 degree temps and a strong wind.

It might be an unpopular opinion, but I think having the opportunity to rest our players in that final week might be more valuable than the 2 seed. This team has played a LOT of football over the past 2 years... and the bye was a LONG time ago.

That said, this team's backups SHOULD be able to beat Washington in a situation where Washington might be in full tank mode. Lest we forget, their QB will be Marcus Mariota.

I have a phobia of other teams backup QBs crushing us. Feels like it happens way too often.

I don't think for this Eagles team matchups, travel, seeding or playing home vs away are what truly matters. I've said it for a few years now: the only team that they really have to worry about is themselves. On paper they have the most talent. The defense is playing at a championship level. The offense has potential and has struggled but if they can reduce mistakes, penalties, turnovers and be efficient and get enough done while the defense does their thing, they can beat anybody. It's up to them.

The Eagles should have beaten the Bears already... but who was the OC last year for the Lions when Jared Goff imploded with talent at every position around him?

There is no easy path, but Chicago still doesn't scare me. The Eagles scare me the most.

We will combat their backup Qb with our backup.

Yup. The team that is best aligned to beat the Eagles... is the Eagles. They've done a great job of it this year at times.

I know it’s been asked. Who we want tonight?

Seattle is my choice, because having them as the #5 seed is preferable IMO. Regardless, the winner of the game is the likely #1 seed and the loser the likely #5 seed, so they are on a rematch collision course in the Playoffs ... unless by some wild turn of events the Bears are the #1 seed.

IMO Seahawks.

I want the Rams to sweat it out. If they win tonight they can probably rest for 2 weeks

Seattle as the #1 seed would be the worst outcome. Eagles have no shot of winning there in the playoffs.

The Seahawks would have to survive a Rams rematch in the Playoffs before getting to the Eagles. I believe the Rams are the better team, and as the Wild Card #5 seed would be coming to Philadelphia if they beat the #1 Seahawks in the Division Round. I like our chances.

With that said, lots of people said we couldn't win in Tampa.

I generally just avoid you, but of all your ridiculous takes, this is the most bananas. Their QB is Sam Darnold. I'll take that playoff matchup anywhere, anytime. The 12th man can't correct a QB who soils himself in every big game.

Taking nothing away from Seattle but I think we match up well with them. I gotta see Darnold play well in a playoff game myself.

So wouldn't you want the Rams to win tonight then?

They have a great defense and that place is the toughest place to play of anywhere in the postseason. A place where the Eagles haven't been able to win since 2008. I want no part of that at all. None. Give me the Rams in LA where the stadium will be at least 30%-40% Eagles fans and the Rams fans that will be there will just be apathetic LA people there to be seen.

Big difference between a Tampa team that is set to lose a very bad NFC South and a Seahawks team that is potentially going to get the #1 seed in the conference.

Unless you have faith in the Bears or whoever wins the NFC North to win their first playoff game in a stacked players then in all likelihood that runner up in the NFC West will be coming to Philadelphia in the 2nd round. Give me Seattle in Philadelphia in the divisional round and then Eagles in LA for the NFC Championship. That is a much better path than Rams in Philly in the divisional round and then going to Seattle in the NFC Championship game.

Hopefully thats what happens week 18. Im guessing the eagles play to win the division this week.
