EMB Blog: 2025 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

Always figured it was the 3 seed as likeliest outcome here and pretty happy about it. Everybody beats the crap out of each other while we rest some weary and banged up players for the next 3 weeks. Great outcome! Coaching staff can legitimately fine tune and focus on the playoffs strategies and doing some final tweaking while playing backups the last 2 games and not exhausting themselves with game planning, etc. A hard fought late season Bills game in the Arctic was always unappetizing for many reasons.

They aren't resting everyone. They will play for the 2 seed.

Too lazy to check. What if we lose our last 2 and the Panthers win their last 3. Will we still be the third seed?

I’m not 100% DJ caught that. 🤣

Great ending though.

So what the hell took so long and why did they have to blow a few games to get here?

I don't know if resting everyone is really the best idea. Maybe at the half, or injured people? I feel like resting too long can result in really slow starts.

Make Jake kick 20 field goals the last two weeks.

Surely you meant Missy right?

I don't think Eagles are winning if they go to Chicago, Menangai and Swift are too much for the Eagles D, them jet sweeps and that too in soldier field where Jake Elliot wont be able to kick a field goal to save his life....

I would say rest all starters for next two weeks, get them as healthy as possible for the best chance in the playoffs...

Rest seems like the worst of ideas to me. This isn’t a team firing on all cylinders.

Tank needs more carries.

Criticism was warranted, but the playcalling and the uptick in how quick it was has had noticable improvement for a few weeks now. Now we just need to perform, but that's an entirely different animal.

Speaking of different animal, BG has been pretty damn good at DT for being an old man.

So you think they are magically going to become the Greatest Show on Turf in one week, playing in Buffalo, with potentially a bad field in freezing conditions? Or do you think it's more likely for a key player to get injured?

So you want the starters to get on that crappy field after freezing rain and potential snow? Nope!

Now to enjoy watching the terds losing to the Chargers today.

Even at the 3 seed, I think the Eagles have a pretty favorable bracket.

Bears at the 2 seed most likely host the Packers or Lions which would be a close game that they could easily lose.

The 1, 5, and 6 seeds will be the Seahawks, Niners, and Rams. We really want the Rams to get the 1 seed because them hosting the nfc championship game would be 75% Eagle fans.

Either way, whoever the #1 seed could ultimately lose to whichever wild card team they face. That would mean if the Eagles get through the divisional round that they’ll host the NFCCG again.

Think there’s a good chance of this happening.

Amazing that 7 days ago people here were sure we’d choke the division

I would love another chance at Chicago. Don’t care where it is.

Yes.

And honestly even if the Cowboys win it’s fun to watch them not be able to celebrate because their season is over. 😃

No way the Panthers beat Tampa Bay twice in three weeks plus the Seahawks.

Chicago is the team I least want to play. Their O Line and running game carved us up. Stopping the run is this defense's weakness, and I think that's the worst match-up for them.

Great win last night. Offense really put it together in the 2nd half. Passing game was very good most of the game and the return of the dominating running game by both Hurts & Saquon was a breathe of fresh air.

And the way they did it was methodical - spread the field out with 5 WR sets - got the passing game going then the running game came alive. Beautiful.

That said - this defense is elite - really only gave up 7 points.

Jordan Davis has arrived and looks like he’s staying.

This is the type of defense people are talking about when they say, "Defense wins championships”

I think the offense needs growth and confidence in order to truly compete in the playoffs. I think arguing that they will grow either way is a valid argument, but with the goal being to win another Superbowl rest definitely won’t drive growth or confidence. Yes, in my view they absolutely need to play in order to have any chance of making a run.

Jake Elliott won't be here by then. They can't keep running him out there. He's the worst kicker in the NFL.

Worth pointing out the cheap shot history and other shenanigans from the Commies in Eagles games. Luvu took a cheap shot on Hurts last year (cost me a fantasy title), Foles got blind sided years ago causing a brawl and then Luvu did the Tush Push nonsense too. Let's not forget Sanistril tried to instigate stuff last year too.

Sirianni is the sort of person that remembers that stuff, so if Quinn needs to take a seat on the dunce chair and keep it quiet

I'm skeptical about the success the offense had. The Commanders defense is terrible, and particularly so aginst the run. And they were playing a game they knew they were losing as soon as Josh Johnson entered the game. To me the offense still looks sluggish, inconsistent, and without rhythm.

Looks like the 4th seed in that case, based on win pct in common games. I think its unlikely that the Panthers sweep the Bucs though. As long as the Bucs don't ish the bed against the Dolphins next week, even if they lose today, the last game of the year will determine the NFC South. And somehow, I just don't see the Panthers as being legit. 🤷‍♂️

They might be our best ally in the playoffs though.

Consider this... the Rams look like the most obvious team to land in the 5 seed. The 49ers and Seattle in the final week will likely determine the 1 and 6 seed.

So, the likely playoff seeding becomes...

1 - Seahawks/49ers final week winner.

2 - Bears

3 - Eagles

4 - Panthers/Bucs

5 - Rams

6 - 49ers/Seahawks loser.

7 - Packers

Making the matchups - Packers @ Bears, 49ers/Seahawks @ Eagles and Rams @ Bucs/Panthers.

Eagles could have the benefit of a 'bye' while the 49ers and Seahawks beat each other up. The Rams get the benefit of a weak schedule leading to their matchup against the Bucs/Panthers winner, after they beat themselves up. And the Bears seem to be playing on the edge of a knife. They could easily slip that first week. Then again, the Packers might go into a tailspin.

Either way, the 4 seed is likely to be knocked off by the Rams, setting them up to go on the road to a division foe in the NFC Divisional Round. If the Bears stumble as well, the Eagles host another playoff game. If not, they go to Soldier Field looking for revenge for the earlier beating. Tough spot for the Eagles, but not impossible. The Bears are doing a lot of this with smoke and mirrors. And if the Rams can knock off their division rival, and the Eagles handle business in Chicago... the NFC CG comes back to Philadelphia. I don't think that scenario is that far fetched.
