This defense will curb stomp the bears if they face them again, and they'll definitely curb stomp the niners. Just a matter of if the offense ever decides to show up for a game that isn't against the raiders

The offense showed up against the Commies as well. Two in a row is a positive trend!

If we go 10-7 (likely from resting players) and Panthers go 10-7 (unlikely but possible); are we the 4 seed?

Buffalo is an important measuring stick game. We've beaten backup QBs and suspect defenses the past two weeks.

Need to see how this evolved version of the Eagles looks against another playoff team.

Yes. Common opponents.

Personally, I'd play to win this week, then likely rest starters week 18 regardless of what happens in other games (even if we are alive for the 2 seed, I think the week off is more important). The wildcard will be the weather in Buffalo -- I wonder if Nick plays it safe with some guys if it will be sloppy. I wouldn't hate giving Landon and Cam the day off, or pull them very early. Get Lane and JC some snaps to knock off the rust, then get them out as well.

Week 18 should be all backups. Likely can beat Washington anyway with the 2nd string, and need to manufacture a bye week for the starters.

Current tankathon draft order is:

#1 -- NY Giants

#2 -- LV Raiders

#3 -- Browns

#4 -- NY Jets

#5 -- Arizona

I haven't paid attention to whether the draft class is any good at QB, but the teams drafting 2-5 all have a dire need for a QB. The Giants would actually be in a prime position to trade down and add picks ...... but, they're the Giants.

How the F are they gonna pay both Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean? At this point, I feel like they have to, which was not something I was expecting to say at the beginning of the season.

I believe in this defense against anyone. If the offense can get back to an above average/good level they’ll be on a good trend. And if they get the run game going I think they will beat the piss out of some of these teams.

Agreed. They could get a lot of back from the team winning the Mendoza sweepstakes and still get a stud in the top five.

An old Scandinavian saying says "one time is nothing but twice is the start of a habit".

Sadly i don’t think Dean is back. As much as I’d love having him back and want him back. I think that decision was made when they drafted Campbell.

It will be an interesting Week 18 decision, if we beat BUF but CHI loses to 9ers. Will DET be a good spoiler so that we could slip into the 2 seed, if they are already eliminated...

The one team that I think still puts up points despite our D containing them is the Rams. I think we will need to score 24 and maybe more to beat them much like the last two meetings.

The league sets up game times for week 18 after week 17 concludes. They'd probably line up our game with CHI/DET to create some tension.

The Rams secondary is not good - I think we would need to trust our OL to block up their strength and Jalen to make good decisions with his arms and legs. If we use the same formula as last season waiting for Saquon to rip off some long TDs, we'll likely fall behind and lose.

Yeah - you can bank on that.

If week beat Buffalo they will likely rest their starters week 18 against the Jets.  We have the Jets third round pick.  Winning this week may cost us a few draft slots in the late 60's next spring.  Food for thought.

Denver is a 12-point favorite over KC in KC on Christmas.  Wild.

I'm thinking we should play to win this week but do that with some key starters getting pulled near the end of the 1st half. I'd love to totally rest Cam/Landon but I'd be concerned with pass protection with Hurts at greater risk. I can see the 2nd half being a half with lots of backups getting significant time mixed in with some starters and being a Mckee half. Mckee needs to get some real game action against a good team that needs to win.
