Hill School in Pottstown, home of the Heaven and Earth Grocery Store.

BTW, that is a very good book if you haven’t read it.

Have read it. James McBride. Liked it a lot.

No problems with it here ... technical problems that is.

It’s way better than the last attempt at a live broadcast, but the audio is terrible, theres a lot of motion blurring and glitching.

Congrats on your absolutely meaningless win, Dallas. Golf clap

Nothing screams Christmas like the Cowboys playing a great game when it doesn’t matter.

Great is pushing it. They got outscored 13-6 in the 2nd half by Josh Johnson.

First Christmas in a while my smoker has stayed cold. Though I’ll trade day drinking and baby sitting meat for enjoying my daughters 1st Christmas.

Love it! Thanks for sharing. Y’all have a great family meal. Those ribs look fantastic too.

Don’t like the black jerseys for the Lions but those helmets should be made permanent. The Vikings entire uniform package is an embarrassment; especially at home.

Interesting. I didn't have any of that. Perhaps because I'm on fiber. Im also accessing Netflix through my Firefox browser on my Mac.

I hope everyone had a great day. Eaten and drunk far too much, and the no Netflix means heartburn in the evening watching the Commies and Cowboys

That's why I love rhe pellet smoker. No babysitting required. Set it and forget it. Quite a relaxing morning looking st my phone to check the temp on my wireless thermometer.20251225_161159.jpg

This was the smaller one. The larger one was perfect. This one has a bit of a Grey band.

Thanks. I hope yours was great as well. Personally I think the ribs are actually the better option. And removing them and cooking them separate made them perfect. They hit 200-205 right as the roasts hit temp to come off the smoke as well.

In concept I really like the Vikings helmets, but with the white uniforms they lose their impact.

I got a book of the Washington post news articles about the eagles from 1937. This is cool because it combines two things I love. The eagles and historic newspapers. I’m as interested in the other stuff on the pages then the eagles specific headlines.

I saw the end of that game. I was annoyed that shower won.

He can't wait to be traded there.

Last I saw it was 21-7 to the Boys until I checked 20 mins ago. I suppose the Commies losing makes next week a little more harder for the them to get up for.

I suspect a lot of people's issues with streaming live sports is maybe their TV hardware is not current enough. They may have good internet (though you should always upgrade), but so many TVs if you havent just got them brand new, and even still a lot of new ones still arent really compatible with wifi6. So your TV isnt really capable of handling the internet speeds you are paying for.

You may have a 1gig plan which is plenty, but your TV isnt capable of receiving even half of that signal. So youll have streaming issues as if youre only paying for about 30mbps.

Many of you may need to upgrade your TVs to one with better wireless capabilities. A very important spec to check out when you are making your TV purchases these days. If streaming is how you consume your live TV, and how we will watch more and more live sports these days, you need that wireless capability from your TV.

One cheaper way to work around this if you dont want to get a new TV right now is to buy a capable box like the appleTV 4K box. Stream through there instead of your TVs built in interface, and let the box do the heavy lifting that the TV itself isnt capable of.

Wtf the lions doing?

They’re fortunate the Vikings aren’t good enough to get too far in front of them. I suspect their offense will come around in the second half and they’ll pull this game out — but they look shell shocked as an offense

That’s funny you say that. I have had two 55 inch TVs and they are right next to the router, and compared to the other devices in the house and they are further away, it’s rubbish.

You went to the Hill School? Did you grow up there or did you board? My dad grew up in Pottstown- used to take me to a diner there he said had the best chili dogs anywhere. My brother's father in law went to the Hill School and was lifetime friends with Lamar Hunt. Hunt would have his Hill School football teammates to a game in KC every year until he passed.

My grandmother worked at the Hill School a hundred years ago when she was a teenager. Some sort of menial maid type work I suppose. She was supposedly super good looking in her youth and one of the students is said to have had a big crush on her. His name was Franchot Tone, who eventually became a Hollywood star. This is the story that has been passed along over the years. I believe it to be true but obviously have no way of verifying it.

I shared this on my Facebook, but wanted to share with you guys too.

Somewhere along the way, Christmas stopped being about things and started being about time. Time with the people who are still here. Time remembering the ones who aren’t. And time just being present, instead of rushing through the day. That shift didn’t happen overnight for me.

I get it if today is rough for you. I really do. There were years when Christmas felt unfair, and I hated it. Back then, nothing about it felt right. But now, I see that was okay. That was part of my process, and I needed to feel it the way I felt it.

So if today brings grief, let it. If you need to cry, do that too. There’s nothing wrong with it. And if, somewhere in the middle of all that, a memory brings a small smile or a quiet moment of warmth, that’s okay as well. None of it cancels the other out.

However today unfolds, know that you’re not doing it wrong. Let it be what it is. Whether this Christmas brings sorrow, stillness, memory, or warmth, I hope you find a quiet place to rest inside it.
