That's why I still don't understand the who won the trade debate between rams/lions. There is a clear winner.

all bc of that dumb romeo doubs..the h2h tiebreaker was why I didn't want bears to win that divison

Just watched the pregame feature and interview with Travis Kelce. He’s a pending UFA and the Chiefs are $48M over the salary cap for next season. Tony Gonzalez asking him questions about retirement.

My brother has been a Chiefs fan for 30+ years and says Kelce has to go. They didn’t get nearly enough out of him this season for what they were paying. I think all of that Taylor Swift stuff helps make the Chiefs decision very easy to say goodbye to him. I doubt he’ll want to keep playing elsewhere but we’ll see.

Imagine Stafford with that Lions roster lol

I don’t think it matters a whole lot because I don’t see CHI winning a playoff game. I think both the Bears and Broncos go one-and done. If CHI gets the #2 seed the Eagles will likely jump into that spot with a wildcard game win.

I suspect a lot of people's issues with streaming live sports is maybe their TV hardware is not current enough. They may have good internet (though you should always upgrade), but so many TVs if you havent just got them brand new, and even still a lot of new ones still arent really compatible with wifi6. So your TV isnt really capable of handling the internet speeds you are paying for.

You may have a 1gig plan which is plenty, but your TV isnt capable of receiving even half of that signal. So youll have streaming issues as if youre only paying for about 30mbps.

Many of you may need to upgrade your TVs to one with better wireless capabilities. A very important spec to check out when you are making your TV purchases these days. If streaming is how you consume your live TV, and how we will watch more and more live sports these days, you need that wireless capability from your TV.

One cheaper way to work around this if you dont want to get a new TV right now is to buy a capable box like the appleTV 4K box. Stream through there instead of your TVs built in interface, and let the box do the heavy lifting that the TV itself isnt capable of.

I said screw WiFi. There are cable (coax) outlets near my TVs plus a couple near office equipment. I 4 bought 1 Gb. MoCA 2.0 adapters and 2 Roku devices with ethernet connections when I 'cut the cord'. TVs, PCs printers etc. are all wired Gb. ethernet. I of course still have WiFi for phone, laptops where portability is required or desirable. Zero issues after 3 years and counting.

There are two potential problems. One is splitters not up to MoCA spec, the second is 'next gen' cable service that is incompatible with MoCA. Because I'm using Roku players instead of cable boxes that is not an issue, no cable signal on my coax network, just ethernet.

I'm going to need a barf bag for all this Travis Kelce BS

One team has a Lombardi, the other got to the NFC CG once. Close, but no cigar.

And... the Eagles are nearly guaranteed to be the 3 seed. The 2 seed door is basically shut now. The Lions likely won't put up a fight against the Bears... but then again stranger things have happened. I remember 2008. No chance then either.

All these games have been so much worse than I thought they would be

My grandmother worked at the Hill School a hundred years ago when she was a teenager. Some sort of menial maid type work I suppose. She was supposedly super good looking in her youth and one of the students is said to have had a big crush on her. His name was Franchot Tone, who eventually became a Hollywood star. This is the story that has been passed along over the years. I believe it to be true but obviously have no way of verifying it.

When you query "Franchot Tone" and "Hill School" you get the following:

Franchot Tone, the Golden Age actor, attended The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, where he was eventually dismissed in 1923 for being a "subtle influence for disorder," a formative experience that, alongside an illness, led him to develop deeper reading and questioning habits before moving on to Cornell University and his successful acting career.

That is particularly interesting for me since I also went on to Cornell after my tenure at Hill, and my mother, who died this October at the ripe age of 102, was born in 1923, and the headmaster of my sister's college was Pat Tone, Franchot's son.

Small world.

Dan Campbell has a lot of Doug Pederson and Nick Siriani to him. At first glance, he is just too much of a try-too-hard bro-y caricature. And then the Lions turned around and started to win a ton of (regular season) games on his watch…and his eccentricities started to become endearing. But he really depended on some top assistants to actually run the show…and things get turbulent when they leave.

This hits home. Lost mom to cancer last week. Thank you.

Sorry for your loss. I hope she pass away peacefully and with a minimum of pain.

I love your screen name. Both my father and grandfather were affectionately known as "Grompy"

I feel similarly about the Seahawks, which is why I want them as the #1 seed rather than the Rams or Niners.

If I could have the NFL magically make one sole, solitary, singular change…it would be to implement an upside-down draft order for non-playoff teams.

Worst team and record in the NFL? Oops, you pick 18th.

Every win improves your draft position. Teams will stop tanking, firing coaches just to have janitors come up with the game plan, putting healthy players on IR…and they have something to play for in week 18. And before you say it…sure, maybe once every 10 years there will be an Andrew Luck / Trevor Lawrence in the draft where some team would actually consider bailing on the 7th seed to get that #1 pick…but that’s not going to be an annual occurrence with playoff births and jobs on the line.

It would completely eradicate the countless garbage football games in the last 2 weeks of the season.

You think a team would do that?

Not so easy when you lose both your coordinators, is it Lions?

Does this mean that it's time for the Lions to fire Dan Campbell? After all, he did not make the Super Bowl the season prior, he did not have as good of a record as Sirianni did in 2023, and he did not make the playoffs. He faced the same situation, did significantly worse, and last I checked the entire fanbase was saying 'what does he even do here' and that he should be fired for that! Lions also have a very good roster. Time to fire Campbell right guys?!?!?!?

Okay, enough sarcasm theater for today.
