Barkley average 3.6 yards per carry as the Bills dared the Eagles to throw the ball all evening. What were the coaches supposed to do? Run more? Hurts was floating wobbly ducks all night. Bad weather, defense sitting on the run, and the QB can't throw it around sparse coverage. I'm not sure what else they are supposed to do.

he was closer to 5 yards a carry in the 1st half.

Though I have noted all season that he is doing too much dancing, today was the first gam where I really felt frustrated by Barkley.

The bigger issue remains our QB completing less than half of his passes. And 0 in the entire second half.

To be more specific, they can win any individual game with this defense. With this offense, they will never string together wins in the playoffs.

well, they might still. Because the playoff field isnt very tough. We wont have to get through a bunch of playoff teams. We will be playing teams that just happen to be in the playoffs.

Great win in a meaningless game on the road in a rain storm against a legit contender . Eagles can beat anyone. Now sit them all.

Still alive and looking ok as of now for the 2nd seed. Zero chance anyone sits if the 49ers beat the Bears tonight.

One thing I'd like to see us do more on offense is throw it up/down the field to AJ and DeVonta. ANYTIME either has single coverage especially on the outside, let's let them make a play. Especially when we're in a rut on offense which we are for 90% of the game. That's the only answer to our offensive woes IMO. Whatever it takes to put those two in that position, that's what the coaches need to work on between now and the playoffs. Play action, spread looks, whatever it may be. DeVonta and AJ making great plays a few times a game.

My issue was more the end of the first half Barkley/tank had runs of 9, 16, 4, 5 and to start the half Barkley had 5 and a 10. They seem to be getting into a rhythm. Then 5 of the next 6 plays were passing plays. To me, they took themselves out of the rhythm they were getting into. They went away from it then tried to back to it, and couldn’t get that type of rhythm again

I didn't watch or listen to any of the post-game. Devonta, Coop, Philips, and Barkley all got banged up and seemed to return. Any mention of those or other injuries?

Jake is the 2nd eagle ever to go over 1000 points.

Goedert has the TE TD record in a seaosn.

AJ Brown is the first eagle WR to go over 1000 yards 4 years in a row.

Sounds eerily similar to the Buddy Ryan offensive philosophy of the 1980s... "Randall will go out and make 3 big plays, and we'll win the game."

If I could choose between no rest next week and being guaranteed the 2nd seed versus a week off and guaranteed the 3rd seen, I would take the rest without hesitation.

I am actively rooting for the Bears tonight.

It's exactly that. Defense will win the game. We just need a few big plays a game on offense. And of course no turnovers.

EJ Smith on PHLY just had the opposite take. He said listening to Sirianni talk about the state of the offense makes me think the starters aren’t playing next week.

Basically Sirianni implied this game was their last shot to get it right.

If it was Oohhh boy.

Ill take every little bit of rest for the OL even though it doesnt seem to help any time they get a longer week.

The more impactful reason may be to take any opportunity to rest Carter's shoulders. His treatment may not hold up all the way through the post season. Hes still going to need surgery apparently, so expecting elite play out of him for the next 5 games in a row is playing with fire.

The offense isn't going to get it right. Their only shot was to rest the OL for so long that they magically re-discovered 2024 and started run blocking like 5 all-pro's again so that the running game could carry the offense. Even that probably would not have happened, but we'll never know.

They might be... but for long stretches, they don't play like it. IIRC, that team went 9 straight weeks without scoring an offensive TD in that season.

For sure. The O will need to make some first downs if they are going to win playoff games.

Carter really should not play next week.

Second seed you will be playing the Packers and as third potentially the Rams. I would take the Packs with no rest week than the Rams with one. Just my take.

Tall order.

Their QB was Trent Dilfer.

lol...Trent Dilfer the "not so pride and joy" of Aptos CA. In my first year of teaching and coaching basketball at the HS level, I coached against Trent Dilfer's team. Our team was overmatched and Aptos HS still had their starters in late in the 4th quarter up 25 points. He had a break away and tried to dunk but missed and the ball shot straight up in the air. One of my players went to get the rebound but Dilfer clothes-lined in frustration. A giant brawl broke out at midcourt... I went out to keep players apart from each other. I had my hands extended when one of my players blind sided another player. From the stands it looked like my extension of my arm was what what caused the player to fly through the air. It took a lot to get the game settled down. Dilfer and two of my players were ejected. The game ended with opposing parents trying to get to me so I went to the locker room. Their locker room was across the hall so I tried to check in with the opposing coach to help calm things down. Dilfer saw me and grabbed me by my throat and screamed, "you cost me my scoring record, I am never getting into Stanford now..." he eventually let go...lol I needed an escort from security guards to get to my car. When we played against each other again at my school, the matter was resolved as other witnesses spoke up about what actually happened. Dilfer did apologize but I have never been a fan of his...he had a massive reputation for entitlement and arrogance in the community...true story!

Sure, bad weather in Buffalo and the Bills only scored 2 and blah blah blah....0 completions in the second half and their only TD of the day came off a half field thanks to a turnover with almost all the yards coming off a floating duck pass that they were lucky AJ came down with.

Careful, you might upset someone

Yup. 2022. They were 3rd in points and yards.

And then Siri lost his OC and we all saw what a fraud he was

Other than him basically alluding to starters sitting so not another chance to get it right. I mean doing it against the commanders again in week 18 isn’t going to fix it. they did well the second half against the commanders and the raiders previous week and it didn’t.

Johnson isn't a starter and Jurgens isn't playing like one.

Are you referring to the Pro Bowler Jurgens :)

SF is a real good team. People want to bring up the schedule but they are contenders.

Luckily, Shanahan is a choker.

Jurgens in probowl is a big joke guy is missing guys right in front of him
