Tall order.

The truth is out there

I hate to harp too much on the QB position, but that's another reason to rest the starters next week.

Hurts is going to have to run a LOT in the playoffs for this offense to move the football. That's the only remaining boost they can add to this wretched offense that they may have held back on.

And if Hurts is going to start running in the playoffs and lowering his head for tough yards...he might leave a game. I'm not saying they have to bench him halfway through a playoff game, but if they start to get him going with his feet, they need to be prepared for Mckee to walk into a playoff game and run the offense. Honestly, it's a pretty low bar they'd have to clear if he did get in a game due to injury, but they might as well work out some of those kinks next week.

he was closer to 5 yards a carry in the 1st half.

Though I have noted all season that he is doing too much dancing, today was the first gam where I really felt frustrated by Barkley.

The bigger issue remains our QB completing less than half of his passes. And 0 in the entire second half.

In fairness to Hurts, there were several drops and the ridiculous incompletion call. Hurts was playing, however, to avoid turnovers. The offense was called to avoid turnovers. They did not spread them out and put 5 receivers in routes. They did not use him in the run game at all. The offensive game plan was to turtle and hope in the second half.

The offense isn't going to get it right. Their only shot was to rest the OL for so long that they magically re-discovered 2024 and started run blocking like 5 all-pro's again so that the running game could carry the offense. Even that probably would not have happened, but we'll never know.

Even if they sat for lasts two weeks, some of these guys probably have injuries that are going to take months to get healthy from or surgeries. Frankly, some of this is we played into middle of February last year and we’ve been in the postseason every year over the last 4 years so played an extra half of a season (9 games). At some point in time that is an accumulative effect on the body. Even though i hate the chiefs it’s respectable they were able to do what they did the last 6 years prior to this year. Also, you have guys like Jurgens who had major back surgery. all off-season was probably rehabbing and not training like he normally would.

All starters should sit next week regardless of the Bears outcome. Our backups will win anyway and we need the week off.

BTW… great win today!

Second seed you will be playing the Packers and as third potentially the Rams. I would take the Packs with no rest week than the Rams with one. Just my take.

Plus homefield advantage throughout the playoffs against anyone except Seattle.

How can people not realize how important that is in the playoffs?

Great is debatable. Great they won, the defense played great until they got gassed, but the offense was anything but the second half. One of the worst coached offenses with that much talent I've seen.

Defense wins championship, as old saying goes. We will stand a chance to win in the playoff. Obviously, the offense has not impressed and has to step up and score points. Even keeping the drives going to give the defense chances to rest would help.

Likely they will rest key players next game. Let the back-ups get some game experience. The coaches could try some new plays & get ready for playoff run.

All to lose at home in the first round 17-10 because the defense is exhausted and the offense still sucks.

I'll take a rested defense that will keep the opponents under 14 and a rejuvenated OL with, oh well, a higher chance of playing a road game deeper in the playoffs.

They played it close to the vest but considering the circumstances it was probably the right call. They’ll open it up in the playoffs when required.

Just to point out, the last time the eagles offense put up 20 or more points against a team currently in the playoff field was week 3 vs. the rams.

FYI, Bills kick that XP in a playoff game. And there's no way our offense was scoring a single point in OT.

Neither team wanted to play an extra 10:00 of football with their respective playoff births clinched and the playoffs 2 weeks away.

Just bec he’s running doesn’t mean he’s going to get hurt. He’s never had an injury history and he’s ran at all levels. He needs to accept that it’s a big part of his game, if he doesn’t want to do it, he shouldn’t be starting because we are severely limited if the defense knows he ain’t going to be a threat with his legs

Points are overrated. Wins baby. Who needs to score in the second half. :)

Did the team carry Hurts off the field today? They’ve been carrying him much of this season.

Tie is just as good for us as a Bears loss would be.

How? 12-5 is worse than 12-4-1

12-5 against this gauntlet schedule is pretty damn good. Get Lane and Nakobe back for the playoffs and we can make a strong run again.

BTW not too concerned about #2 vs #3 since the Bears are a fraud and will prob lose in the 1st round anyway.

The overturn was the correct call.

And there really werent drops in the 2nd half when he completed 0 passes. There was the one tough one that Smith had to go up for that went through his hands. Thats all. The rest was Hurts spazzing and throwing it away while he ran backwards.

They didnt ask him to carry the team through the air. They only asked him to pass on 3rd downs. He wasnt up to the task, and he also didnt seem willing to try to win it with his legs today either.

Its a shame. His 1st half was pretty darn good.

A well rested defense, maybe. But the last thing this offense needs is a week sitting on around, twiddling their thumbs.

The way offenses get out of funks is playing through them and gaining momentum - NOT resting, especially after several very weak performances.

And I like this team’s chances in the Linc during the playoffs against anyone in the NFL.

It's hilarious that with the talent we have, we're discussing whether this offense is marginally better than the 2000 ravens offense led by Trent Fing Dilfer lmfao

I believe the week 12 loss to Dallas (which is an awful defense) was the last time they scored 20 or more points (21) against a team that was not already eliminated from the playoffs at the time of the game.
