By their logic, basically any play at the sideline isn’t reviewable. So suppose it’s third and fifteen and you throw a pass to the sideline and the receiver runs for fourteen yards, but the receiver actually stepped out at the line of scrimmage. In that case the defense can’t challenge the play. It’s not fourth and fifteen because the official marked him short of the line to gain. The fact that he was wrong by a whole fourteen yards is irrelevant.

The lack of opportunites for Purdy scrambles definitely are hurting the Niners and he isn't getting enough time to find those open intermediate routes. If Seattle can get their act together and punch it in on a long drive, the Niners will have to abandon the run.
