EMB Blog: 2025 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

For those blaming Sirianni for sitting the starters, there’s no way he made this choice himself. This was as organizational thing. And it was potentially a disastrous one.

The NFC is soft as baby ish, the only hard away game would be seattle in the NFCCG. Disastrous is overkill. Being at home does nothing for this offense, or defense. Offense sucks no matter where they are, defense is great no matter where they are. Is it cool to host playoff games? Sure. Is it disastrous to be on the road for an offense that sucks anyway? Not really.

In the NFL? Cmon man.

I’m serious. Hurts rarely fails in clutch moments. Who is better?

Resting the starters was the right call. But 2 things stood out. 1, obviously, is Patullo. He deserves zero respect and is an absolute clown. McKee had no easy buttons (surprise surprise), no one was open because the route concepts made no sense, and McKee ended up crapping his pants.

On defense, this one is on Howie. You know what would’ve helped the DL getting gassed? Cutting AJ Dillon and signing a DL. You know what would’ve helped you from having the most hilariously awful CB play many of us have ever seen? Don’t bet the farm on Kelee Ringo, whom you’ve seen also crap his pants every time the ball was in the air for 2 years straight.

Yeah…years and years of non-stop trolling of Hurts and when he leads them to the Super Bowl and MVP do you take a step back…of course not…you double down with the McKee trolling all season…he looked great in preseason blah blah blah. I can’t wait for what’s next…just go away already…zero credibility…zero

incorrect. Ive always said positive things about hurts in the very few excellent games he has played. I call it like it is in real time. Enjoyed McKee playing well early, and called his bad plays as they were pretty much all of the 2nd half. Overall, bad game.

I really want to crush the 40whiners and the defense to make Purdy look awful.

They better effin win next week!

Stubbornness, imbecile, overly confident type coaching from Siri & Patullo. What makes Siri think he doesn't need that 2 seed? What a f'n stupid disgrace this is and when we lose he needs to be held accountable and Patullo needs to be fired too.

Packers can beat Chicago. LA can beat Carolina. As long as we handle business next week the odds of us having two home games is pretty high

You can see why they were so desperate to trade for every last CB option. Ringo and Bennett are bad

Chiefs will be picking 9th in the draft.

Falcons win four in a row to move the pick they gave to the Rams out of the top ten.

Not saying McKee was stellar today - he obviously was not.

But the people in here saying he's completely tanked his value when he was playing with people that haven't stepped on the field all season and be asked to throw 40 times are bring silly.

He tanked his value because he had very little tape and it was sensational. Now he has more bad tape than good tape. He could still be good but the aura is gone and it’s much less likely they can dupe a team out of a high pick now.

If the Packers beat the Bears, and I think they could, the Eagles get a home game in the divisional round if they beat the Niners.

He’d get flagged on the play too.

Failed trade. Deactivate him the rest of the year

Yeah it 100% is an organizational decision with Nick. Don’t believe for a second it was Nick’s decision alone. That said in hindsight probably should’ve played the starters for a half and seen where the bears/lions game was then made a decision.

This was the rational choice. The 2 seed is too valuable.

F Siri and Howie.

They lost this game.

I'd keep Adoree Jackson as well, can't get rid of that many. I hope they draft a corner relatively high, and also add other corner depth.

Eh i feel like i can find a younger veteran in FA to replace adoree who’s a slight upgrade. Hard to ask a 31 year old corner to play 16 games and stay healthy. I feel like we’ve been pretty fortunate walking that line with slay, bradberry and adoree lately. Eventually it’s more likely you get burned

Im like the only person who still doesnt mind us resting guys lol

Lol everyone is mad at not getting the 2nd seed. The only team this offense can outscore is probably Carolina

you're right..I won't be surprised at all if niners win

Going for it was fine. Patullo just showed his whole arse again with back to back passes.

It's not just that. They could have run for 200 yards today. You know, like they always said they like to do. Instead they tried to make it the Tanner showcase with the #2 seed right there. The Lions were up immediately and all game.

And the coaching everywhere except Fangio is hot trash. What are the backup DBs doing all season??? Can they defend a single GD pass?

You have Ringo leaving Johnson alone to walk in for the winning score but McKee can't fall over for a wide open first down.

If our defense plays near perfect, we will still need 24-30 points to win games in the playoffs.

If we can consistently score 24pts, I like our chances.

Our game will be a repeat of the game they just played, our defense will destroy them and the offense will suck ass but score enough to win

Disastrous? Who cares? The roster is rested and healthy.

If they lose at home in round 1, it’s irrelevant. If GB beats CHI, it’s irrelevant. And if they go 0-2 against that crap Bears team in Chicago, then shame on them.

Exactly, Chicago and Carolina are probably the two easiest outs of the entire playoff pool

Yup but also reality if the eagles didn’t lose a game to crap giants who had no business beating them they aren’t in this position. Frankly if they lose in the WC round to 49ers they kind of deserve it for how poor the coaching has been all year on offense and losing games to to crappy ass commanders with Josh Johnson and the Giants

Anyone think the game would have been different if McKee played with AJ, Goedert, Devonta (entire game), Barkley and the starting defense?

I'm not debating whether McKee is better than Hurts because that's not debatable at this point. But we're dismissing him and comparing to Hurts when the circumstances weren't the same.

If they just played the 1st team defense today, we win with 17 most likely even with McKee playing with backups on offense.
