Nope. I'm feeling like there is just one more game left for this season. I do hope to be very wrong. It's happened before.

Better shot here than anywhere else

Well if we get passed the first round that could be a problem

Backups are Backups for reason

Tbh I’m not even sure Bennett, ringo are worthy to be backups. There’s a reason the raiders gave up Bennett and ringo is a lost cause at this point. I’d argue he’s actually regressed over time at cb

The QB Factory had to show their arse and pass all day instead of giving it to the 7 running backs they signed. F'ing idiots

Christ we better beat the 49ers just so I don’t have to hear "the 2 seed” crap all off-season. Pls God grant me this.

On McKee, I've tried to say the sample was small but some insisted on overvaluing it. My contention is the sample is still small. I'm not burying him. He played with backups today albeit against a bad team. And honestly if he had a good game that wouldn't have proved anything either. We've seen QBs have entire good first seasons only to fade after. In any case Patullo sucks

I don’t know about all that. A good game today with that supporting cast really would have meant something.

I don’t disagree that the eagles need a coaching change at OC. Their offensive scheme has always been we have more talent than you and we will eventually wear you out. It’s been an issue for this team at times. Particularly this year and end of 2023 when guys were banged up so evened the playing field in terms of talent (brown out and hurts banged up)

However, they also didn’t lose because the offense was bad. Their defense particularly the secondary could not cover anybody. The eagles got burned with penalties repeatedly because their corners (which means roster construction) behind your starters are abysmal. They’re not even bad. they’re abysmal. Like there’s three guys that we’re playing today that probably shouldn’t be on an NFL roster unless they’re just special teams. Bennett has been injured and bad since he got here. Ringo has regressed and got beat out by adoree who is average and end of his career. And brown has been bad last 2 years at safety. Bad enough after 1 game he was replaced with Epps coming off an injury.

That said this decision to rest was never all on Nick. Don’t believe for a second. roseman who’s been here the longest and lurie aren’t having a group think about what they see is best for the team and going forward. It was the same when doug was here and they pulled guys in 2020 in week 17. That wasn’t all a Doug decision. It was reported later it wasn’t.

Definitely agree that resting was organizational. But this offensive philosophy gets us however far it will in the playoffs and after that you dump KP immediately and get experience back in here. Then take a deeper dive into position coaches because I was very disappointed in our backups on both sides of the ball.

Eh i feel like i can find a younger veteran in FA to replace adoree who’s a slight upgrade. Hard to ask a 31 year old corner to play 16 games and stay healthy. I feel like we’ve been pretty fortunate walking that line with slay, bradberry and adoree lately. Eventually it’s more likely you get burned

I wouldn't pound the table to keep him, but as a backup for veteran experience who already knows Fangio's system I can see keeping him. But I don't want him to be the expected answer. It's a good year to draft a corner within the first 3 rounds (that high Jets 3rd round pick for example) and have him compete in camp. Or bring in a free agent who can compete to start. Q and DeJean are absolute studs. I think they re-sign Blankenship, and Mukuba as a 2nd year player will be ok. They don't need a stud at CB2, they just need someone not a liability. And they need depth as you said.

Good news: the Eagles get the #2 pick in the 3rd round.

It's the #4 pick per Tankathon. https://www.tankathon.com/nfl/full_draft

It's not quitting if you don't try

Ringo might need to move to safety or something, although he’s probably not smart enough to play it. If he wasn’t a really good special teamer he’d be on a team’s practice squad.

Fire Howie and Siri.

Ringo is a very good special teams player, but he should never see the field again as a CB. He's unplayable.

You are not alone.

FWIW, I think the Packers are a better team than the Niners. Their offense is comparable(#2 in EPA per play vs #3) but their defense is much better. And they have more WR targets. The question is what Jordan Love are you getting? So I don't mind getting the Niners over them in round 1, the Niners defense is terrible and if the Eagles offense can't score on that defense then there's no excuses for Lurie for this coaching staff.

The difference is obviously the next round. Either going to Chicago, or playing the Rams at home(assuming they beat the Panthers).

Well, shoot, that was the only good thing that would have happened to the Eagles today since we decided Chicago’s loss as didn’t matter.

I know they are good but I’m not scared, I’d rather play them than the Rams or Bears

I mean, maybe, but all three of those teams are good and very well coached. The real issue is they could have instead faced the 9-7-1 Packers.

Tank was great. It's criminal he wasn't given the ball more during the season

Tank and Barkley both in the backfield

I hope they do it in the playoffs

Do they alternate based on rounds when there's a tiebreaker? Jets are #2 in the draft order.

Technically yes it would mean something as a contribution to a bigger picture but one game is just one game

I’d bring back adoree to be a backup at the right price. Have a feeling some place gives him a chance to start simply cause he’s been solid this year. I think we probably sign a corner in FA. I could see someone who’s young but not big money like Greg Newsome being a guy they’d target. He’s still young. Isn’t breaking the bank. I believe had previous interest in him. I kind of think we sign a veteran and draft a corner high. Then have McWilliams in the corner room. Ringo an Bennett will be back because they are cheap but i doubt either makes the roster unless one of them makes a massive leap. Which i don’t see at this point.

The Bears lost and we put out some of our worst gameplanning and play calling all year.

It was a mistake to bench the starters - like I've been saying all week, should have let the healthy guys start and then rest them once they had a decent sized lead.

As far as the game planning and play calling went - horrible. People that don't understand the nuances of the game will be quick to blame McKee etc but the game planning and play calling was horrible.

When you have a young, inexperienced QB you need to have a game plan and strategy developed around him - run the ball, let the kid get his confidence up, short passes, then intermediate passes - etc etc - You certainly don't play the game like a Madden game and call 90% intermediate routes ON ALMOST EVERY DOWN - LIKE WTH???? It was obvious to anyone who knows QB's McKee was rattled after the pick within the 10 yard line (WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RUN THE PRIOR DOWN FOR THE FIRST DOWN! ) You need to get his confidence up after that point - running plays, HIGH % passes, etc etc - You don't just go back to throwing intermediate routes and even a Bomb on 3rd and short (I almost broke my TV on that one).

This just goes to show that The vast majority of the offensive woes this season have - without question - started with the coaching, gameplanning and play calling - then execution.

Very disappointing to watch - hard to watch at times on offense.

The defense played their hearts out and some of the younger guys made some statements - that was good to see.

If you want to teach your kids about the differences between a well-managed organization vs a poorly managed organization just show them this year's Eagles offense vs this year's Eagles defense.

I hope they get it together for the playoffs - 3rd seed and all.

Not against Rams.

Earlier in the year the offense scored 27 points against the Rams. They have it in them, and our defense is way better now and will hold the Rams to less.

The Niner just got beat up at home and will now have to travel across the country to play a rested team.

Our defense is in the same level as the Seahawks. We should be able to put up enough points against their D to win.
