In picking the niners as they will probably score more than 20 and we won't be able to match that. A weeks rest was not going to change that.

Don't think they can score 20 on us. A week's rest will help the defense.

1st prediction of 2025-26 playoffs:

Rams lose to Carolina then complain its not fair they had to travel across the country to play a team with a losing record just because said team won it's division. Will say NFL has to change the rules to reward teams woth better regular season records.

Titans going to stay the Titans

He gets paid to watch football?

Not much to take away from the game yesterday other than Bigsby is really good and Bennett/Ringo suck.

I'm convinced we'd be better off playing 10 guys rather than letting Ringo on the field.

Yeah I dunno about that. Hurts has laid plenty of turds this season worse than yesterday

Woke up even more annoyed about Patullo. That's the biggest take away yesterday. No matter what players are on the field that guy has no feel for play calling whatsoever.

Plenty? Only game worse would be the Chargers game.

Clayton Tune had -7 net passing yards yesterday after going 6/11

Did we go 3-3 in this crappy Division??

Yeah I was there and I'm a Hurts guy and it was worse. Beyond that there have been a lot of bad QB games in the league this season. It's a ludicrous statement

Some guys have taken off in their 2nd stint of coaching. It's really hard to predict other than predicting failure is always the safer bet

Honestly, I'm kinda tired of the Patullo hate. It's sports fan copium. Whenever something isn't going well, sports fans find one guy to blame because it's easier to cope that way. If you convince yourself one guy is the issue then it's easier to stay optimistic that if you just rid yourself of that guy everything will be ok. And Patullo is the low hanging fruit, everyone is dog piling on.

There's a 53 man roster. The team has lot a dozen offensive coaches. The idea that the reason this team has been disappointing this season is one man... an assistant coach at that, is crazy.

Multiple things can be true.

Is Patullo good? No, I don't think so.

Is he the only coach doing poorly this season? No. Sirianni has been awful. Stoutland has been awful at a minimum.

Are the coaches more to blame than the players? Yes.

But the players do have blame. McKee yesterday for instance was awful.

Point is: I hope the owner doesn't think it's just the OC. If he does we are in serious trouble. If these playoffs end poorly, the offensive staff needs to be blown up. The offensive side needs a restocking of talent, particularly at OL and TE. The idea that if you swap out one man, a coordinator, with another man, and this team goes from 11 wins and bad offense to 14 wins and a great offense is so ridiculous. Lurie needs to take a long look and realize the problems run deeper or this offense isn't going to be fixed.

OC is likely the only one that'd get changed. So that gets the target

Stout had a really bad year but he's tenured and not going anywhere

Nick just signed a new contract and has a winning record with different OCs

Though the RB coach should get blame too for not putting Tank in more. Though I honestly don't know if that's the RB coach, Stout, KP, Nick, all the above, or a mixture of a couple

Disagree. The play caller on offense uniquely impacts the team's success. And the play calling has been horrendous

I just hope whatever happens next year that they decide to change the offensive philosophy. Players and fans are unhappy and I can't imagine lurie is happy with the amount of money on that side of ball.

Nick won't get fired yet. It's 5 years in a row he's had a team make the playoffs and won 1/2 Superbowls. Any other franchise besides maybe kc would take those results in a hearbeat

No it doesn't. Not to that degree. This isn't Madden. Play calling is never the difference between a bad offense and a great offense. Nor the difference between a talented group playing poorly and playing great. I remember we used to do this with Andy Reid. People would act like if they just ran the ball more in the old Andy Reid days, the offense would've became the greatest show on turf.

There's scheme, there's fundamentals, there's chemistry, there's execution. Eagles win that game comfortably yesterday if the guys on the field did their job, even with the poor play calling. It's unfair to put all of this on one man. Cooper spinning the ball like an idiot, McKee throwing a terrible INT and missing wide open guys all game, CBs tackling guys on every play. The coaches like a lot better when guys do their job.

Yup. Huge for 2026. Ravens with a healthy Lamar >>> Pittsburgh with whoever they have at QB.

Time to start the playoff thread

I think the movement for that already started last year. That’s why when they got to the owners meetings they had a discussion on it and put out how they might change it. Ultimately, they tabled it because frankly, I think it wasn’t going to pass at that time. Also the changes really weren’t very well thought out and imo for a lack of better words was stupid in how they were going to implement it. If the ram lose, it probably gets brought up again this offseason as not only do they have a better record but they also have the highest SOS of any playoff team and highest SOV of any playoff team (I’d add once again all 3 wild card teams in nfc and afc have better records than at least 1 divisional winner… which is happening more and more frequently over the last decade and really the last 5 years)

I’ve said this before the day is coming where they are going to change it. It’s only a matter of time when they do it. It’s like the tush push being banned and a 18 game schedule eventually being implemented. Imo It’s a matter of when not if.

Personally I think the Niners are about to get smacked in their stupid mouths.

I really hope so. I worry that the offense can't find its stride and Purdy will limp his way to a victory.
