A frozen tree bench fell through our skylightI took one step off the front steps (concrete, of course) and fell down all 5... hitting each one on the way down.My mother still made me go to the bus stop. Then the bus driver decided about halfway to school that they weren't going to make it up the hill to the school. That bus driver canceled school that day. He called in, "I'm never getting this bus up the hill safely. So, I'm taking these kids back home. You can figure out what to do after that." He was a hero from that day forward.

Thursday at 01:49 AM2 days I'm gonna deliver a steaming hot take to all of you about Jerry Jones. He's the reason Eagles fans (and Giants fans and Commander fans and who knows who else around the NFL) think of the Cowboys as their biggest rival. Imagine being so dominant and successful you have been able to acquire rent-free real estate in the heads of so many people that lasts for decades into your irrelevance. The guy has cognitive decline and massive egotistical and institutional inertia rooted in the 1990's...and maybe or maybe not clinical dementia...and is unfit to run an NFL franchise yet is somehow still doing it unchecked. But this damn guy clearly spanked the rest of the NFL hard enough and long enough that the scars are still raw. And he did it sufficiently alone that he embedded a scaffolding of protection around himself at the controls that they still can't hold his hand or redirect even now that he's losing his faculties. How do you think the 83 year old in your life would do running an NFL franchise if they refused to listen to anyone?

Jimmy Johnson was the architect of their success.

Jones looked like such a good actor here and I think its because it may actually be him truly telling his life story from the heart.

Jerry is the owner, so obviously he can remain in power and do whatever he wants when he answers to no one. And it's not like he would be the first owner of a team to do so at an advanced age when he should've given up the reins years ago. That would still be the case whether he had rings or not. Pretty weird post all around.
