Fun game.

Almost don’t even want to watch this now. 😆

How many people complaining about soft zone for the Panthers understand that their best, by far, defender wasn't on the field for the final drive? Imagine Kelee Ringo out there for that drive, and tell me who Stafford is throwing at and if you think the coverage would look soft.

Yup.

Was another reason why I thought they would just start sending people after the 2 min warning and they were at midfield. I kind of viewed it like this, if the Rams beat you sending a big blitz then so be it. At least you can get the ball back with three timeouts with more time left. With the new kickoff rule it is pretty easy to get into field goal range to at least send it to overtime.

Then again Carolina is 8-9 of a reason. So I’m not surprised that rams when they needed too on offense did what they did.

All of the teams in the NFC are bad. This should be a free trip to the SB if it weren’t for Patullo.

And to you smug masters of football types who are so wise because Horn was hurt...

If they play normal tight D like they were earlier and they get burnt deep then they have way more time to score a FG.

Or they force a mistake. Maybe a ball gets deflected or Stafford with a bad hand in the sometimes wind is inaccurate.

You don't decide "Lets lose this game" because one of our guys got injured.

ATTACK the middle of the field. Just like Stafford did to your Defense.

Yeh, not smart...:37 seconds left, you can't take the TOs with you...hit the seam at least once, if not twice for 10-15 yds a pop, and call TO.

3 people are standing 5 to 10 yards deeper than Puka when he is making 8 yard catches.

That is not a Ringo is covering him problem.

But you have 3 time outs. Play your regular defense and you still have plenty of time even if they score. Running the clock out on yourself is a pretty definite loss.

Missed the point. They weren't in a soft zone. They just didn't have the guy they needed on the field, and they had a guy out there that they didn't really want to have out there. How many times have we complained about how 'soft' it looked when Ringo was out there... or even Jackson early in the year? They aren't a good defense... worst ever in terms of points allowed a year ago. And then you take their best player off the field. I think you and many others just don't have the proper context for who the Panthers were defensively. They are not a good defense with Horn on the field. Take him off the field and its a disaster, just like what we saw. Frankly, they were playing above their heads for most of this game. Reality set in at the end. A lot of folks complaining about that final defensive series are just victims of unrealistic expectations for that defense. The Panthers best shot to win was using all of the clock and scoring that TD on the final play... or very nearly. They scored WAY too fast, and even if they had taken it down another 45 seconds... the Rams still had all 3 timeouts. There was no one on that field to make the play that was needed in the moment they needed it, like the Eagles had with Jalen Carter last year for those final two rushes that ultimately saved the Super Bowl run.

I’d add to this. I hate at the end of the first half when they have a chance to go and try to get the touchdown inside the 30 (sometimes just kneel if further away) then they just settle for kicking a field goal by calling conservative play. They did that against Tampa Bay and Buffalo at the end of the first half. not in the locker room, but I gotta imagine if I’m an offensive player how deflating and upsetting it is to know that my OC/coaches do not believe in us as a unit and feels the we need to turtle up.

Yup...no settling for FG's and for goodness sake...if they are up 40-6 with 5 minutes left I better not see Ringo or Sydney Brown ever

Coaching was an issue but also felt like Bryce young also wasnt very decisive with the ball on that possession until 4th down.

Yup. This would've been a cake walk repeat if they hired almost anyone else, instead we have an offense that can only light it up against bottom 10 defenses and is otherwise useless.

They played like dogshit and still found a way to win. That can get you pretty far in this league regardless of who you play against. But yeah, if they think they can get away with that against the Seahawks or us, it probably won't work out as nicely for them.

People forgetting we watched the eagles O play like dog ish for 17 weeks and stumble to the playoffs. Rams are a good team.

First time playoffs for the QB and head coach I don't expect them to not make mistakes.

I was just going to say that in relation to Caleb Williams and Drake Maye getting a 1st start as well.

The playoffs are like the same jump from college to the pros. Lots of very good QBs have very bad 1st playoff games.

So at this point there is no way we get green bay next week, its either Rams come to Philly, or eagles go to Chicago. Correct?

Good to see you around a bit more!

Side note…how’s your hunting season going?!

Are we assuming the Eagles win tomorrow? What’s the word on Lane is he playing or not?

seconded. greend is a HOFer

Smart play calling from a smart play caller.

He is giving Williams a chance to get comfortable without a bunch of tough early throws.

It looked like they were trying to get a chunk play early, routes didn't develop quickly enough and he got a little pressure on downs 1-3. Have to have positive yards every play, get the drive started with something quick, call timeout, do it again...they needed 30-35 yards for at least a long FG...3 plays, 3 TOs...all coaching/playcalling imo.

I feel the Eagles have enough experience that they will turn it on for the playoffs. I also thought Billy McMullen was gonna come in for T.O. and blow up.

Thought so.

Well, I hope the bears get beat up quite a bit and win. I think Ill still prefer to play them. But I really dont mind the rams coming to philly at this point either.

I get what you are saying but they definitely looked to be playing with everyone in front of them and allowing short the short stuff on purpose. I don’t think it was just Horn missing.
