I can’t attest to seeing him out there but have seen him at JoJo coffee house and Fashion Square Mall.I think my favorite random run in was seeing Odell Beckham at Joe’s Pizza at like 2am with a convoy of an entourage. Just rolled right to the front of the line cutting off like 30 drunk people, grabbed a pie and left.

Why is this so difficult to do?This is not rocket science..the opposing defenses are running zone D almost exclusively...to beat a zone defense the offense either counters by overloading the zone with more receivers than defenders, and/or they strategically moving to gaps (horizontal and vertical), Screens can work really well against zone, especially if the opposing team also blitzes. There is a reason why Goedert is so effective...because his zone routes have opportunities in seams and in front of or behind the linebackers. That is also why Jason Avant has been the very best Eagles receiver over the past 25 year against zone defenses...it is not complicated...find the gaps and square. Running past the line of defenders and coming back to the ball in a gap is a QB's best friend. Running a WR in a slant against a zone is literally sending him directly into the defensive strength as there will be a guy waiting for him. Talk about hospital balls....what has me frustrated are the plays where the offense send out 4 receivers all on vertical routes and literally run to a defender and turn around...they are not open and Hurts gets stuck unable to deliver the football...also he also seems to only throw to receivers after they enter their gap...he either delivers late or the defense has time to recover and cover up. The routes and play calling against zone D really needs an overhaul. The best way to beat a man-man D is with rubs, picks, crossers, slants and having WR's who can consistently with their 1-1 matchups. Both Brown and Smith destroy man -man so the defense rarely show them that look. It is not the QB or WRs it is the play calling and route design. Brown has not been running crossers and slants because the defense is dictating the offensive scheme. What the Eagles really need is to improve the running and then spread the defense out horizontally to gain the leverage and that will force teams to run man-man. Again...not complicated...I just don't understand the stubbornness or competency of the playcallers.

The early drives seem to have a nice run/pass balance which suggest that they were strategically assigned. Once the Eagles break from the scripted it becomes a play calling no man's land and Patullo either lacks the skills or experience to adjust and stay out in front with his decision making.

Especially, since he can't decide what to call and gets them in late. That's why I think a consultant would be good to bring in to help him "script" the next series while the defense is on the field based on what they are seeing.
November 13Nov 13 ^That's the mindset that is also holding them back. It's also going to wear the defense out.
November 13Nov 13 They've won the turnover battle and still let loose before. Talk about holding yourself back. God it's frustrating what they do
November 13Nov 13 Author Interesting schedule this weekend. Chiefs/Broncos are the featured late game on CBS, so Rams/Seahawks is only available in the local markets. The lead game at 1pm on FOX is Bears/Vikings.

He needs to see the game differently and change in viewing perspective might help. He also needs the experience and expertise to be prepared 3-4 plays ahead which is why he needs another trusted voice or two to help him with that...it should help him with better sequencing and getting plays called in on time.

November 13Nov 13 PS Something else that just hit me about what Nick said....who gives a crap if they don't turn the ball over if they turn the ball over on downs by punting quickly. It's the same damn thing, Nick.

I'm a proponent of throwing it 3rd and long and being less risk averse. But I think it's probably likely he wouldn't have the best passer rating if they were.

I'm not sure how they could have prevented it past him sliding. You are right about the field position but it puts the defense right back out there when they are the worst in the league at 3 and outs. There is middle ground between being careful and going into a shell. They are way over the line IMO.

November 13Nov 13 I love how this is the solution of the owners instead of, you know, listening and improving things for your players?
