Windy forecast but mild weather. Crazy Eagles fans dropping bets?Or just maybe bettors think we can get pressure with four?

There is a reason why Goedert is so effective...because his zone routes have opportunities in seams and in front of or behind the linebackers. That is also why Jason Avant has been the very best Eagles receiver over the past 25 year against zone defenses...it is not complicated...find the gaps and square. Running past the line of defenders and coming back to the ball in a gap is a QB's best friend.Running a WR in a slant against a zone is literally sending him directly into the defensive strength as there will be a guy waiting for him. Talk about hospital balls....what has me frustrated are the plays where the offense send out 4 receivers all on vertical routes and literally run to a defender and turn around...they are not open and Hurts gets stuck unable to deliver the football...also he also seems to only throw to receivers after they enter their gap...he either delivers late or the defense has time to recover and cover up. The routes and play calling against zone D really needs an overhaul. The best way to beat a man-man D is with rubs, picks, crossers, slants and having WR's who can consistently with their 1-1 matchups. Both Brown and Smith destroy man -man so the defense rarely show them that look. It is not the QB or WRs it is the play calling and route design. Brown has not been running crossers and slants because the defense is dictating the offensive scheme. What the Eagles really need is to improve the running and then spread the defense out horizontally to gain the leverage and that will force teams to run man-man. Again...not complicated...I just don't understand the stubbornness or competency of the playcallers.aptosbird.....are you available to work for the Iggles on the Offensive side of the ball? A part time (50 hours a week minimum) job might be available. 🏈

But GB's last SB win was in 2011 so I had to pick a good round number that would not support his statement at all. If I had said "30 years" they have two in that span, '97 & '11, I wasn't giving him that satisfaction (it equals PHI). If I can't have it, he damn sure can't have it. Yeh, I can be that guy sometimes.

Hopefully everyone realizes the answer to this.As much as you would like to take the opportunity again to be a troll....all evidence suggests that the "brain trust" does not seem to understand and implement these "basic" principles. Why are they running 4 receivers on vertical routes into defenders? Why do they continue to run tight formations against a stacked box? Where the overload screens to Barkley? Why aren't there more designed runs for Hurts? It is stupid play calling beginning with completely inappropriate formations to counter the zone. It is all mind boggling to me...it brings into question basic competency. Of all the Eagle QB's of the last 25 years, it is actually McNabb who struggled the most against zone D...without Avant he would have been really lost. McNabb could zip it into receivers sitting in gaps, but had no touch on the ball to hit the receivers in the intermediate gaps behind the linebackers. He had to rely on the TE's running seam routes. The same deficiency also sunk Kaepernick...he was great against M-M but could not feather a ball in with touch against zone defenses. Hurts can make every throw and I would like to see him to take some calculated risks with receivers who are finding gaps...but the offensive scheme is absolutely no helping him....but go ahead with your same tired narrative...

We’ve seen this type of offense 3x now in Siri’s tenure. He’s a clown. Just a "ceo,” as some put it. I will stand by this statement. When he is removed from this team, he won’t win anywhere else. Similar to Doug P. Good coaches surrounded by elite talent.

Now what is 3rd and long? I did 3rd and 6 beyond. If you want to go longer let me know and I will adjust while I still have this spreadsheet. But based on passing on 3rd and 6+ this season, Jalen Hurts is:29/41, 70.7% for 501 yards, 12.2 YPA and 17.3 YPC. 1TD and 0 interceptions.
