That said I’m guessing the eagles view it as they give up a 3rd and if they extend him then it’s worth it. If they don’t extend him good chance someone pays him in FA as he’s just 26 and they’ll get a comp pick in 2027 as he’s just 26, a pass rusherIt is ours
Monday at 12:47 PM1 day In a short window it was important to get someone familiar with Fangio I think
Monday at 12:54 PM1 day Knows Fangio and did well in his system. Young. High draft pedigree. Currently healthy. Major position of need. I like it.

Is he good anymore? No.Only real plus is that there is no learning curve for this defense. He can likely play right away.I hope Howie’s right on this one. A top 100 pick is real asset to move. Pass rushers tend to get overpaid in FA, so hopefully he ends with a flourish and gets a monster contract in March.
Monday at 12:55 PM1 day 3rd rounder is kind of steep but I guess that’s what happens when you’re good. No one wants your late ass picks. 😀 Hopefully he’s healthy. Big upgrade if he is I think.
Monday at 12:55 PM1 day Well, we have three guys being added to the active roster now at DE/Edge and two more coming in at DB. Lots of question marks in there but they offer a shot to improve things. We need at least one of those positions to see clear improvement as the combination of no 2nd outside CB and no outside pass rush is very likely to spell the end of this year's run down the road if something doesn't get fixed.
Monday at 12:57 PM1 day My bad if posted, but Breer says the Dolphins are paying a chunk of Phillips’ salary to help facilitate the trade.
Monday at 12:57 PM1 day Vintage deadline Howie.3rd is really rich for a guy who did an Achilles and acl in 2 of his last 2 seasons and hasn’t ever been that good. Really rich.
Monday at 12:57 PM1 day I do care about this, as we may have a high dead cap in 2026 with an AJ trade.

This for the oldest team in the league. Even without Danny Boy they're a train wreck or dumpster fire, take your pick.Meanwhile, even after Howie's flurry of trades, the Eagles own their first, second, three thirds, two fourths, two fifths, and a seventh. This for the second or third youngest team in the league.I didn't dislike the move for Tunsil. The big difference is how aggressively Howie gets extra picks.

A tanking team getting a 3rd round pick for an IR machine that has never had much of an impact…they are probably thrilled to write that check.
Monday at 01:00 PM1 day I like the move in that I think making a move for a pick was smart. These chances to win it all never last as a long as you think. We'll see if they went after the right player

That was a monumentally stupid play that should have been a pick 6.I disagree. 4th down passes don't matter. All that matters is that a pass is thrown in the field of play so the play has a chance. The offense should know in the back of their minds that it is basically a punt if it gets intercepted and they should be ready to become tacklers. Defenses in that situation should know to bat the ball down and take no chances. Let me explain what you saw happen there:The WR realizes he steps out of the endzone and basically quits on the play. The DB makes the bonehead attempt to intercept the pass and actually bobbles it toward the WR who now has an opportunity to catch it because it touches the DB's hands first and the WR is reestablished in the field of play. Watch it again --- it was nearly a TD as much as it was nearly an INT. Doubs was back up to speed and would have made the tackle even if it was cleanly caught.

But, apparently this is whom Vic wanted, if that is the case then by all means I am absolutely fine with the move. He does have very good length and plays well against mobile QB's.

Monday at 01:09 PM1 day I don’t want to tally it all up, but we’ve traded a bunch of resources (albeit day 3 picks with the exception of Phillips) for a bunch of guys we can’t bank on being here in 2026. Unless I’m missing something, Bigsby seems to be the only one.

Monday at 01:10 PM1 day Phillips is a good move, imo. First round pedigree and a "Vic Fangio” guy - meaning he will likely play a large role in the defense much sooner than someone Vic isn’t as familiar with. It’s also a low risk - high reward move - meaning that although it cost a 3rd round pick, if we were not to resign him - decent chance we get a 4th round (maybe even better) comp pick back.Win - win scenario imo. One of Howie’s better FA moves of the year, imo.

This is especially wise when you have a stacked roster that doesn’t have much room for crappy prospects. When you are rebuilding, take the prospects. That said, I think all these players will barely contribute this year let alone next. Bigsby, IMO, will be the biggest contributor out of all of them by far. And he’s just going to be an up and down regular season snap eater who doesn’t get used in the playoffs.
